What brings you immense joy?

Getting to the top of a good hike. Seeing the view, feeling the pleasant level of exhaustion, and knowing that it is (literally) all downhill from there.

When my husband genuinely smiles at me.

Watching bees and other insects on our milkweed plants.

Getting into a freshly laundered and made bed at night. It doesn’t happen as often as it should.

Ice skating.

Night skiing. Omg, I’m not even a good skier and I love skiing at night.

Cuddling with my dog in front of the tv.

Long car rides with my teen boys and DH while listening to music together.

Same. And I hate amusement parks, crowds, lines, etc. but I LOVE Disney World. It makes me so happy I think because you really do just forget about everything else going on and are immersed in this magical world.

Oh, me too!

Also...I love the birds on my feeder. Love them bathing in the heated birdbaths after a winter storm.

Birds, males and females, courting each other, building a nest together, and taking turns to feed their babies.

Nordic skiing. I love the solitude, and I love gliding. I also love traveling as long as it involves a lot of movement and not crowds.

The first sip of coffee in the morning.

Just the right song on my headphones at just the right moment.

Skipping. Yeah, the kind that we all did when we were little. (If it sounds ridiculous, try it fit at least 30 seconds. I predict you end happier than you began).

Seeing my dog, a once-terrified rescue who had clearly been through some things, when she is goofily happy.

It’s a great question. It makes me want to make and notice more joy. Thank you, OP.
