What brings you immense joy?

I recently got my first pet, a cat. OMG I love being a cat mom so much!!! It’s literally one of the best things that’s happened to me. It makes me wonder what else I’ve been missing out on. What brings you great joy that’s not your kids or partner?

Disney World. Yes, really.

Driving down my street in mid Dec when most all the houses have their lights up and seeing mine all done up.

Curling up in front of the fire when it snows and having hot chocolate with animal crackers.

Finishing a major decluttering / organizing project.

Vacation planning.

My other great joy moments mainly involve specific instances with my kids.

My dogs. I have two — a little mutt and a toy poodle. Both are rescues and the little poodle has done an amazing job of healing from trauma. I am so proud of her, and it has helped me to begin to heal from mine.

My daughter. Just seeing her happy or watching her discover something she loves. I know it sounds super cheesy to say this but she is just the most amazing gift.

I also love my cat and he's such a comfort to me. He is getting older and I've been thinking recently about how he's definitely in his later years, which really makes me want to enjoy him as much as I can now. He has now been with me for more of my adult life than I lived without him, I really do think of him as one of my dearest friends.

Also: art, a good book, doing yoga and then taking a hot shower, days where I'm mostly pain free

My cat as well.

Early spring, when flowers begin blooming and the weather begins to warm. Feeling the sun on my face.

When I meet a dog on the street and I can tell it's a person dog and it can tell I'm a dog person and we are smiling at each other. Also, this has nothing to do with me, but I love when old ladies run into each other by accident.

Definitely our dog, who is over the top excited every time I walk in the door. This include if I've left about 30 seconds earlier to go get the mail.

Every time our college students come home for whatever reason.

Also, when our college students go back to college.
