Right now, a weather forecast with temperatures above freezing brings me joy. The seven day forecast is bringing me the opposite of joy so I'm trying to hold on to the positive while it lasts.

My ritual of having my morning cup of coffee on the couch, nobody talking to me, mindlessly scrolling for 1/2 hour before the crap of the day starts.
That feeling when all the clothes are washed. Doing a thing that has been on my to-do list for too long, either because I’m overwhelmed by the thought of it or it’s so tedious. Waking up on a Saturday morning, knowing I’ve got nothing planned for the weekend. |
| OMG, you people & your pets are pathetic. |
Well they are better than the people who answered “my kids” after OP explicitly said excluding kids and partner! They didn’t even read! |
|
I’m a very measured and content person so I don’t have lots of joys/dips.
But I life kids and it brings me joy to watch a child overcome something. My nephew is afraid of everything and I took him to the aquarium and it took a good hour of watching others touch a starfish before he touched it. I took him to a park and it took him an hour to get the courage to go find the big slide, but he did, he hit his head, got over it and kept going. The stuff makes me happy. |

Ugh typos^^^
And I didn’t read close enough to see no kid stories. Oh well. |
|
I love cats, too. Doesn’t even have to be mine but I just get amused looking at them and watching them be cats.
Other stuff: doing art, hot coffee, putting on slippers, fresh sheets, taking a walk w headphones on, standing at the ocean, flowers of all kinds, a good haircut, reading, finding a perfect sea shell, sleeping in, hearing other people laugh really hard…probably much much more but that’s a start. |
|
Mine is skiing. When I'm in powder in a bowl that's close to empty. That is the closest I can get to heaven.
|
Well I mentioned my kid and my pet, I guess I misread. But there are few other things that bring me "immense" joy, so whatever. I don't think loving somebody is ever pathetic. |

Being immersed in a great book or TV show Good food (good to me, it doesn't have to be high quality - could be a burger from Five Guys) Being on/near the water (i.e. on a boat or a beach) in beautiful warm weather Being on a ski slope with good snow Laughing so hard it hurts Really comfortable clothes A really good massage |

Oh, me too! Also...I love the birds on my feeder. Love them bathing in the heated birdbaths after a winter storm. |

In no particular order:
Skee ball and pinball Seeing preschoolers out in a group attached to a rope - bonus if they’re waving or giving a stop traffic sign Irises Sticking my nose in blooming lilacs An ocean breeze Bright sun in a blue sky in winter Whoopie pies Over the top Halloween and Christmas decorations A really good fountain coke over ice Live music The organ at a hockey game (shame on the Caps for letting their organist go) |
