you actually believe that crap?

Or to be civil. Except for you, apparently. |
| Not a good look. But historically, Georgetown and Holy Cross were and still are best. Santa Clara and Boston College like most Catholic schools transitioned from local commuter schools in last 30 years. |
| As pp said ND is not Jesuit but if into pedigree among old money Catholic families on East Coast it was always Georgetown and Holy Cross. Quick visit to each campus would confirm the old buildings. |

God people, this isn't really that complicated.

It depends on your kids stats and what they want to do. If you are looking for Jesuit, cura personalis schools look up AJCU.
Georgetown obviously the top and difficult to get into without good stats. GU has very weak STEM other than bio and pre med type courses which are very strong. CS , math, physics and chem barely exist. Boston College also competitive now. Santa Clara competitive now and the only real option for engineering. Other good options to go west. USF - located in a great area of SF, good liberal arts education. Gonzaga- easy to get into, pretty campus, Spokane is a cute town. Be wary of budget problems with smaller schools, they may not survive. Marquette- popular in Midwest, might be having budget problems. Fairfield- budget problems |
| There are a lot of Jesuit schools. Need more info about your student, OP. |
| Georgetown and Holy Cross if kid wants to be a doctor or lawyer. The rest who cares. Xavier facing enrollment decline and budget problems. |
| Not sure about Spokane. But then it is only 4 years.... |
| Be careful about some like Xavier big problems. Georgetown and Holy Cross are like the Catholic Ivies add in non Jesuit Notre Dame. Among the rest of the Jesuit schools strong correlation between city the school is located and current popularity. BC and Santa Clara doing well. Loyola of Maryland and Fairfield doing well but more of a safety. St Louis, Marquette, and Xavier not as well. The last 3 compete against better known cheaper Flagship Universities like UWisconsin and The Ohio State and those Jesuit schools are not winning the app battle. |
| Good analogy between location and school. UScranton is struggling while LMU doing well. |
| Add in UDetroit Mercy half Jesuit that has seen better days. |

Georgetown & Boston College
Jesuit HS |
| Most of Boston College campus is not in Boston but Chesnut Hill and Newton. |
