I have accepted the fact that surely plenty of my children's friends will marry and have kids before mine. My son is asocial with autism and unless he surprises us, he will likely marry very late, or not at all, like other of our relatives with the same profile. My daughter is neurotypical, but very competitive and independent, and I don't see her settling down early. Also, she has an auto-immune disorder that increases infertility, so even if she wants kids... it might not happen.
I need to work on myself, because I had my kids early and to me, there is nothing more important than being a parent and raising children. I know, it's not a goal pushed on many young people these days! |
She is. Every parent wants their kid to have a kid
|
| My best friend has three adult kids, two mid-20s and one early 30s. Only one has a likelihood of having kids but she is not married and just getting started on a demanding career far away from her family. She and her boyfriend just got a dog and even that is a strain given their jobs. |
No they don't. They want their kids to be happy. Having kids isn't for everyone and parents need to realize that their kids' idea of happy may look very different from their's. |
This has to be the the dumbest post I have ever seen. Science, healthcare, technology, opportunity are at their highest points in the entire history of humanity. We are literally living at the apex of all civilization. But all means, let your genes exit the pool! It's called survival of the fittest. |
NP. Uh, no. Idiocracy is rapidly becoming a reality. |
| Me, too! I went back to school and got a degree to teach and am around little ones and elementary ones every day. I really enjoy them and have my quieter life when they go home to their parents. Happy as a clam. |
Maybe PP didn’t want to be here. Not everyone wants to be born. |
That’s why you should support the end of vaccines. Vaccines have kept stupid people alive and allowed them to reproduce. |
Things ebb and flow. This time is no different. The tide will always turn. |
Climate change is the difference. |
You don’t sound that smart yourself. |
They will ebb from the US and flow to other countries. It's called a brain drain and is already happening. |

LOLing at everyone who thinks this is the worst time in human history and how could anyone consider having kids in this awful horrible time.
I guess not a lot of people read history. Or if they do, they are unable to put themselves into the shoes of those people who lived back then. I ask: When was this perfect era when it made total sense to have kids and guarantee a worry-free life? |
Is it always the same poster who resorts to name calling? It’s so immature. What are you in third grade? |
