If the person who collided with the parked car does not have insurance, does anyone seriously expect them to leave a note? Get real, people. |

For those saying it's no big deal, it's happened to me three times for total our of pocket of around $14-1500 plus time and inconvenience. It would be way more now with inflation.
25 years ago dent cost $950 20+ years ago smashed tail light was around $250 7-8 years ago someone broke our side mirror off. That was around $250 getting the part at a junkyard. Would have been way more to buy it new. |

To answer your question…….a terrible person, someone very self-centered as well as inconsiderate ➕ disrespectful. 😠
Good for you OP for getting the license plate no.#! |
| This should be handled by insurance agents, not the individuals. She probably called her agent as she left and they identified the individual and reached out to their agent. You’d be surprised at the back channels they have. |
it’s cute you actually believe she had insurance |
+1 we have 3 cars from very old to brand new and no paper or pen in any who needs to actually write anything down anyways nowadays |
This is a ridiculous excuse when you can go into the gym and get some. |
That was a hero move. |

While I was waiting for my hot yoga class to start (I was the teacher) I saw someone back into my car. She took off. I chased her down the street barefoot and in my sports bra, and got her license plate and called the police. She came back twice to drive by and look at my car for damage. Then she came back and stayed and by that time the police had arrived. She had insurance but I think panicked.
At any rate, the damage (not extremely evident but you could tell) came to $5270. I had a rental for four weeks until the part came in and the repairs could be done. I was PISSED as hell. Inconvenient and she should have stopped right then and there. Very hard to then teach my class as I could see what was transpiring outside. |

It is not a crime to be poor.
And not everyone can afford insurance you know. |
Suuure! |
No, it's not. Stop being a terrible person. |
He showed me the bumper, which I already said and you choose to ignore because you're a POS who doesn't want to pay for the damage you caused. |
You're a horrible person and I hope your car gets damaged by the same type of person as you. |
| It can be even worse, or more disappointing rather. Years ago when we were living in MD our car was parked on the street in front of our house and our neighbor's visiting friend hit it as he was backing out of their driveway. He never reached out to us voluntarily. We also know this person but not as well as our neighbor. Of course was upset about our car being damaged but even more disappointed in the man who basically hit and ran. We had thought better of them prior. |
