Easy Thanksgiving dessert needed

Oh, you can absolutely do you boo!

But, cherry pie is very much summer.

Maybe go cranberry instead if you want to keep it seasonal yet remain adjacent.

To have with coffee after the TG meal.

I think two kinds of cookies is a weak dessert offering. Not with the other option being pumpkin cookies. Since the seasonal is already covered, most people I know would be looking for a chocolate dessert.

Mango icecream.

The thought of chocolate and turkey just jars me. I only do pumpkin, pecan, apple flavors.

What?! I'll have already eaten cranberries with my turkey and dressing. Cranberry pie is a no go in my house.

But for those worried about my cherry pie offering, don't fret. I'll also have pumpkin pie and chocolate pecan bars. Is that seasonal enough for the purists?

That’s a dump cake not a crisp. Tasty, but a totally different topping texture.

I love those. They’re one of my “happy foods”. Just eating it makes ke smile.

No totally different then a dump cake. The fruit is on the bottom and the the cake mix and butter are layered on top. It forms crumbs on top.

That’s literally what a dump cake is. Fruit on the bottom, cake mix over the top and butter over the cake mix.

I do these wedge shortbread cookies from Sally's Baking Addiction. You don't have to chill it, you can add different flavors (I've done plain, with lavender and lemon, with black cocoa, with peppermint bark), it's fast and people love it.

Anonymous wrote:They’re not particularly associated with Thanksgiving, but Seven Layer Cookies are delicious and about as easy as you can get.

Seven-Layer Cookies:

Spread in 9 x 13 pan:
1. 1 stick melted margarine
2. 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3. 1 pkg. (12 oz) chocolate chips
4. 1 pkg. (12 oz) butterscotch chips
5. 1 cup coconut
6. 1 cup chopped walnuts
7. 1 can sweetened condensed milk (like Eagle Brand) (14 oz)
Bake at 350 degrees F 25-30 minutes (until top starts to turn golden). Cut into squares. Cool and chill.

I feel like butterscotch and the kind of texture that comes with the coconut and nuts in this recipe has been very "out" for lack of a better way to put it for a while now.

Yet people are pleasantly surprised by butterscotch (like pudding). Especially my gen z kids. But true, nobody seems to like coconut anymore. One DC likes a mounds bar at halloween and that's about it.

Many dump cakes mix the cake mix and fruit rather than it just being a topping . I am sure there are a million variations.
