Who actually develops players?

Two off hand are Phil Gyau and Sal Caccavale.

No need to berate if you disagree. Despite what others think, who has impacted your player?

Been with Sal for two years. Would not go anywhere else.

NGL when you leave him finally you will see the horrible toll the screaming, swearing and negativity had on your child. It’s hard to see it when you are in it but one day you will. It’s not worth it!

Not my first rodeo, cupcake.

If his coach did NOT develop players I would happily post the club and initials to warn people off.

You go, Gollum!

Yep, we have 3 players who get all the attention. One gets attention because they do lots of private training within the club. Same 3 players are called out for Examples over and over. Same 3 players are given opportunities to play the neutral. Same 3 players are given guest playing opportunities and are always getting technical instruction. Same 3 players's parents are always talking to the Coach and the other Coaches before and after practice. Same 3 players play most of the whole game. I am paying the same Club fees as those 3 families, but those players are literally receiving twice the development and feedback.

Those 3 are probably the three best players on your team.

Club soccer is only about 25% of my kids time on the ball per week. If I allow one person to control who my kid becomes in this little time, that is my parenting issue, not a coaching issue. I am currently at BSC and can't stand my current coach as we are not with SM or PG. My mistake, I should have done my research. My kid knows you still follow and listen to the coach, learn something from them but do not let them impact "who you are" which comes from my parental foundation. Please stop with blaming SC for your parental shortcomings. Learn from what you did wrong and correct it for your younger kids or grandkids. Have a great day!

BOOM!

I know that is why people are not posting but that is the major issue here in the DMV. You know that you are hurting your kid and their maximum potential with this mindset. South London produces so many ballers because iron sharpens iron. Many of the parents of top kids in our age group share resources because we want to compete with each other which makes our kids better. If your kid is better than mine in training or club, that is fine. It does not hurt my ego. We are trying to simply peak technically by U15 and then see what puberty brings. I am playing the long game, not the "is my kid on the U11 ABCDEFG Next Champions League AAA Pulisic 1st team that won Jefferson Cup, SuperCopa and State Cup" short game. Pro tip I received in my first year in club soccer from a coach: Rarely will the best uLittles be the best at 18-19.

I would like to ask this question: Are there any private trainers/coaching groups equivalent to the technical work that Coach Vin at Achilles or Coach Simone at BSC focus on? I have NO PROBLEM sharing their names because I want the best to attend their training sessions. We train with both periodically and this allows my kid to compete with the best. Our schedules don't always match up with theirs so I also want to explore options and have different viewpoints like another poster mentioned . It would be a shame if they are the only two in the DMV. I will check out the Juventus guy. Thanks for the recommendation.

Let's make DMV soccer great again. Aren't you people tired of Philly and Jersey kicking our butts?

Now, when it comes to private coaching? I’ll never tell.

You really need private coaching for this. A team environment is just too chaotic with the many levels of talent.

And that is why our region lags behind. Instead of competing, the DCUM parent hoard. I can't believe how pathetic you people are.

Yes. I bet everywhere in the world altruism reigns supreme. Get real.

Any GK coach?

If your kid isn't watching the best soccer on TV, with or without you, they're already at a development deficit.
The most important one at that

Majority of parents and coaches aren't knowledgeable or experts at youth development through the stages
Out here trying to force kids to do Stage 10 that the Pros are doing, versus mastering stages 1, 2, 3 first in kids bodies with kids minds

You also have parents going to private training with their kid who is a defender to a guy who knows nothing about teaching defending and has the kid doing stepovers and taking hundreds of shots
