The article states "a 14-year-old girl entered the girls’ locker room at West Springfield High School and changed into clothes for gym class, but as she was leaving the locker room, the girl encountered a male student who has “facial hair” and was “wearing pants that were so tight they clearly outlined his genitalia” standing inside the girls’ locker room and watching the girls preparing for P.E. class."

Would anyone be able to explain how this is acceptable?

Who said it was acceptable?

FCPS says it’s acceptable and is doing nothing to protect girls in locker rooms. Read the title IX complaint.

The complaint says West Springfield has about 2250 kids. Clearly it was drafted by someone who knew little about the school and couldn't be bothered to get their facts right.

They literally linked the fcps page saying that in the footnote. What do you want them to do, go in and do a headcount?

My DD has 2 trans friends. She actually swam with one on swim team. This kid made sure she had a stall, and got out of there as quickly as possible with her head down.
That's what trans kids do.
It’s sad. I literally have no issue with it.
Now the boys on the football team and their swagger, they concern me.

So healthy boys concern you but boys that are struggling make you feel good. You’ve got a problem.

Does FCPS allow the trans to compete on the girls swim team?

Okay, read it, that’s just insane. FCPS has lost its mind. The boy identifies as female, so they can’t/won’t keep him out of the girl’s locker room.

This has been the official policy since 2022. ("In no case shall a gender-expansive or transgender student be required to use a locker room or restroom that conflicts with the student’s gender identity or be limited to using only a private area, single-occupancy accommodation, or other single-use facility ...")

Agreed that it's totally insane, but it not new.

So OP can't get West Po and West Springfield straight.

And the complaint claims WSHS has 2250 kids when it has closer to 2800.

Tell me this isn't all being rushed out with little concern for accuracy to push a wedge issue before an election. If y'all can't get these basic facts right, why should we believe the other allegations?

The law suit was filed today. The events began around Sept 2 or 3. FCPS bungled it for a couple weeks and here we are.

1. What material difference does it make if they misstated the school population by a few hundred students?

2. They probably rushed it out because the 14 year old girls don’t want to be stared at by the male student for the rest of the year.

Again, they used FCPS own figure. Take it up with FCPS if their school profile is wrong. It states 2250.

The fcps.edu webpage says WSHS has 2250 kids. You have to go into the school membership dashboards to get the current enrollment.

This is such a phobic comment. Who are you to police what a minor trans child is supposed to look like? These children have enough challenges without people trying to police their appearance. And yes this is an awkward phase of life where AMAB individuals need to learn how to shave, and have acne, and so forth, and it’s a mess. So a trans kid has some fuzz. Why don’t we make them feel even more self conscious than they already feel. What a twit you are.

Does FCPS allow trans to play sports with their preferred gender?

This wasn’t an FCPS team. Maybe club?

This article is extremely confusing. Boys are not allowed in girls bathrooms. Trans girls are.

If this is a trans girl, the article uses the wrong pronoun to describe who is in the bathroom.
