UVA and antisemitism on campus: have they taken steps to reduce it?

No, "they" didn't. Jim Ryan resigned on his own, and the Board accepted the resignation. Three were preceding problems, most notably his handling of the three murders last year and what UVA knew about the shooter in advance but didn't act on. Also, Ryan got caught being disingenuous about dismantling the DEI programs - he just renamed them "community affairs office". The Board got pissed. I like the new acting head. And the Board is pushign ahead to find a new President. No one is upset. Ryan was a weak President. Some say he took the coward's way out by resigning.

Have they done things to stop this at UVA ?

If you are Jewish you only send a student to a fully blue state at this point in time.
Anything else is bad parenting.

It is very much a conservative rag, similar to the Richmond times dispatch or the Wall Street Journal opinion page.

Anyone who disagrees with you or asks for some validation is not an antisemite. Also, your name calling is not endearing me to you.

The Daily Progress is not "a conservative rag". It's so left learning that many don't bother reading it. https://www.allsides.com/news-source/daily-progress

This. OP is an op looking for next MAGA grift to get Winsome elected and Trump interfere in Va. People like OP having been using DC Urban Moms to foment division in Va and push weird cultural stereotypes to boost MAGA numbers since 2005. It's become so transparent and it's sick.

Unbelievable you are denying this. UNBELIEVABLE! I mean, there’s a federal investigation going on!

Here you go, antiSemite:

This doesn’t actually refute that the whole thing is BS made up by the Trump administration to go after universities.

The sad thing is, there *is* antisemitism at UVA (and everywhere in America)—from NeoNazis. They walked through Grounds eight years ago chanting “Jews will not replace us,” and Trump defended them. They are even bolder now. Let me know when Trump decides to focus on that.

I’m a Jewish alum, btw.

Exactly. Why any Jewish person believes that Trump is on our side is beyond me.

Anyone who believes Trump supports Jews and claims to be a Jew is not a Jew. My family died in the Holocaust and 9/11 I will never forgive one so called Jew that voted for that POS.

As a fellow Jew I fully agree with you. Several of my traditionally Democrat Jewish friends have been gravitating towards him because they think he is good for Jews and Israel. Their ignorance is astounding. He has no interest in Jews or the well-being of Jews. Donald Trump only cares about one thing - himself. Notice how his Jewish child has distanced herself from him during this term? She can see right through it.

The fact that more people don't see through the motives of this snake oil salesman is truly astounding. It was kind of funny when he was a private citizen. Now he is destroying our nation. And making a lot of money doing so. And people are just rolling over and allowing it.

As the parent of a current UVA student I can tell you that everyone at the university is very upset by the removal of Ryan as President. He was beloved on grounds. And you're incredibly naive if you've never heard of someone in a high position "resigning" which many times is code for being pushed out.

I’d worry more about the bullets flying on and off campus the last few years.

I thought there was only violence and disorder in cities and states run by Democrats? Because everything is there fault. You know, Biden isn't coherent enough to walk and chew gum but he is masterminding all of this chaos and unrest.

Bullets are bipartisan and I prefer not to be hit by one.

I'm physically there and think the Board has done a terrific job. To prove it, here is UVA's report card from the Anti-Defamation League for 2025. https://www.adl.org/campus-antisemitism-report-card/university-virginia.

The blue states are where all the violent, stupid anti-semites are, but whatever, you do you.

I am skeptical that "Trump administration pressure and political interference" has any practical effect on the ordinary student. How does it affect the daily conduct and content of the classes? Whatever that stuff is, it's happening above the heads of the students.

Excuse me?! James Ryan was forced to resign under pressure from Trump administration! You think the students don't notice federal overreach? the assault on academics freedom?

"Noticing" that the college president was forced to resign does not mean it affected their daily lives. As for the "assault on academics freedom" - give me a specific example from UVA on how Trump, this year, has caused any classes to be taught differently from they were last year.
