Robberies spike in D.C. Friday, Saturday despite anti-crime surge

So anyone who's worked in the criminal justice system also knows that sowing district between LEOs and the immigrant community results in a crime spike because criminals are aware of this and will target these communities. Making it so certain populations won't cooperate and talk to the police makes crime policing very difficult.

There were 101 murders when the Guard came in. As of August 29 there are 103. That is a historic decrease in the murder rate. End of story. I don’t need Washington Post articles. All I need is this:

My son lives on the hill and reports a wonderful "vibe shift" from recent years because students and residents feel free to walk around, dine, and bar hop in areas on Capitol Hill. He even saw a mother with a baby in a stroller out at 10 PM on H Street, enjoying the warm evening. Instacart and other delivery services have told me to my face and to him that they are "having a great day" because, for a change, they won't be robbed. The restaurateurs I know report a resurgence in DC dining, which is NOT what the WaPO (which is anti-Trump) wants to report.

Yup, I live in Shaw and have experienced the same. And the older Black neighbors I talk to are happy that they feel safer, while the white people are hysterically telling me "we are not safer, no one is safer."

I'm starting to feel that these white liberals are going to end up endangering everyone.

This would require DCUMers to stop voting Democrat. How many on here finally have the guts and common sense to make the change? You are showing common sense to bring up the obvious (about fixing prosecution issues and judges) but you just cannot act on it due to your TDS.
I'll bet you were the same people bashing Jeanine Pirro for talking tough.

Usually the students (the DC public) in detention are there for a reason and always say they are innocent or oppressed or the teacher hates them etc. Everyone else tunes them out and lets the adults handle the cleanup. This is what's happening in DC for this short time period.

No it requires the feds to fix and staff the USAO. They are doing this somewhat, but judicial vacancies are a federal hold up by congress that Trump could choose to address by randomly tweeting about it.

Other blue cities do not have the same prosecution and no papering issues as DC; our rates are much lower.

We can do National Guard while they fix the justice system. The council is responsible for the broken system and does not even think it is broken. The council is fine with a justice system that allows 1% of the DC population to terrorize 99% of the population. For whatever reason, DC residents are unable to elect responsible leaders, from Ward 1 to 3 to 6 to 8, all council persons are natural born losers. The only fix is to change criminal laws and have fed takeover permanent re court system.
