The national guard is not going to be in DC forever. Crime will resume when they leave. I haven’t yet heard any long term solutions to DC’s crime problems. Have you? |
Are you always paranoid? Do you travel to any cities at all? |
By your posts is obvious that neither of you live in DC. |
| It’s nice to not have the gangs of ATVs going right down Constitution on both sides of the street swarming around the vehicles of oncoming traffic at 10pm. |
Any respite from crime and disorderly behavior is nice. Sadly, it can’t be sustained. |
This. Even if crime went down for two weeks, so what? What is the long term strategy here? Focus should always just have been to fix prosecution issues. Force remaining judicial vacancies to be filled. That is it. Save us the money. |
You've posted the same on other threads: "DC, who lives on the Hill, says it could not be better or more safe. He reports that people, especially students and even a woman with a baby in a stroller, feel safe to walk at ten o'clock at night on H Street. There is also no more stealing of wheels and rims, which he saw right around the corner from him three weeks ago. He now goes out at night to shop or go to bars. People who live on the Hill are thrilled." |
This^^^ |
And if that woman was black, you’d wonder why they had a baby out at 10 o’clock at night. |

Because we're living in the real world, and know who and what groups are responsible for a 90%+ portion of the street crime.
It's not the Georgetown lacrosse team that is scaring anyone. |
Honestly that number is about 99%+ responsible in the District of Columbia |
Men. |
Why, no. No, I don't travel anywhere. I just sit in my one BR section 8 apt and watch TV reruns with my cute cat in my lap.
|
Do you mean all black people? Because that is going to be a big chunk of DC you need to lock up. |
