Ours choose from an "approved list" is that really choosing? And then 2 of the travel ones are "club" tournaments where they send most of the teams. It's not great.

I would say its better than these Herndon people getting overcharged and only doing tournaments where Herndon financially benefits, even if the tournament is not good.

Apparently not at Herndon as our coach was as surprised as we were that we were doing this ratchedy thing.

I have heard about other decisions being made by this manager without coaches being notified first. Not sure why this person is being given so much decision making power especially when those decisions are not in the best interest of the players. It’s a great way to drive people away from the club. Parents are paying attention and will vote with their feet.

So if your kid is on a Herndon team and you haven't heard anything about tournaments, assume their team is stuck participating in this likely hot mess as one of the tournaments you are paying for? Not impressed.

I heard all the teams are being put into this.
Since most of the teams also have to participate in the Herndon Dulles fundraiser tournament, those are your team's two fall tournaments (both chosen to benefit Herndon or Herndon-associated people rather than your kid).

This is going to be a terrible tournament. The one thing we do know about this club is that their planning and execution is probably one of the worst in the area. This is going to be a complete shit show.

Is Herndon part of their new alliance with Valor and Vienna? I wonder if those teams will have to enter?

Yes. The only pre-season tournament any Herndon team is playing in at all is this hot mess + Herndon's own tournament.

How do the other Herndon teams know they will be playing in this tournament? We have heard nothing from the coach about any tournaments and there are no scrimmages, tournaments or games on the team app. Is it on the Herndon website somewhere?
