So typical of those D1 teams to try something like that. How idiotic of them to personally accost an official. I hope they got punished.. |
Pretty sure this is BS. D1 relays were smooth and fun. Lots of records broken, loud cheering, and close races all around. 5 teams had a lot of fun together. |

Yes, actually. I was that kid, waiting excitedly for exactly these results. And I learned I don’t get exactly what I want exactly when I want it. And my parents counseled patience and then went about their day as if it wasn’t the most important thing in the world that I know RIGHT NOW. Because it wasn’t. And it isn’t. Your kid will survive and so will you. Patience. Isn’t it all about the journey and building character, blah blah blah? |
What happens at the seeding meeting? |
The Division 3 relay carnival was great! Little Rocky Run was a great host, and there were a lot of fast swims! |
Every team rep gathers in a circle, the NVSL groundhog is awakened from his slumber, and all stand in awe as he emerges holding the magical All-Star seeding scroll. |
They always find mistakes that have to be corrected. |
Except that all the time cards are hand written and results are all manually entered, which results in mistakes that are found and need to be corrected. |
The last place team was missing many swimmers and had to swim a number of events as exhibitions. They are much more competitive in the division generally. |
You should have stood by the snack bar with most of the Highlands parents! |
Wouldn’t this be the case at any Saturday meet though? |
No one is buying this rationale. All the team scores are already posted and won’t change. If there were errors team scores would change as well. |
|
Yes, but you’re merging results from 17 discrete meets. I’m not saying it couldn’t be automated, but it’s a little more complicated than folks are suggesting. Also, reps do NOT attend the seeding meeting, only the DCs. |
