Good but now we have the long wait to find out who is going to All Stars because we can’t move into this century and do things easier/smarter.

Our first time. When will the results be announced?

I’m assuming they didn’t meet last night so it won’t be until after they meet in person this evening. Gotta love living in 1956.

Why the rush?

Have you never been a kid waiting excitedly for something? Especially bc the rest of the swimming world operates with real-time results.

And many swimmers are swimming at PVS Open Championships that start the next day and are headed down that evening.

How is that affected by waiting 24hrs for these results?

Hotel reservations need to be cancelled by a certain deadline.

Somehow I think that senior swimmers participating in Open champs are going to keep their hotel reservation regardless. Warm ups for Open champs is still going to be at 7:00 am on Thursday.

Yes, the coach has recruited aggressively for years.

That is funny, OKM hasn't recruited a single kid. They are join because we have a great pool and great membership. I can count on one hand the number of kinds that don't go to a local area school.

Yup. They just magically got tremendously better in a year. Honestly if they were presenting themselves in a better manner most teams in D1 would be happy for them, as it is fun to see the top dogs being challenged. It was the same thing with Tuckahoe. Everyone was initially excited for them when they took the top spot but instead they became CB 2.0. Now we have CB 3.0 which is a bummer.

Every team rep gathers in a circle, the NVSL groundhog is awakened from his slumber, and all stand in awe as he emerges holding the magical All-Star seeding scroll.

I thought it came from the Goblet of Fire, no?

Yes, but you’re merging results from 17 discrete meets. I’m not saying you couldn’t automate that part, but it’s a little more complicated than folks are suggesting. Also, the reps do NOT attend that meeting, just the DCs.

Except that all the time cards are hand written and results are all manually entered, which results in mistakes that are found and need to be corrected.

Wouldn’t this be the case at any Saturday meet though?

And Swimtopia doesn’t do this automagically?

Seriously. The recruitment is not a secret.

They tried to recruit my DC. Another team offered a better NIL deal the week before time trials.

I’m not sure you know what SwimTopia is.

Results from three divisions are posted in meet mobile. All the others are probably in SwimTopia or a similar software, which makes combining data a trivial excerise .. if speed and efficiency were prioritized over process and drama. It’s all about the big reveal.

It's the same few hateful people posting here. How pathetic. You don't like seeing other people succeed or enjoy themselves. So you throw out unfounded accusations. You just can't deal with the fact that people can be successful and live better lives than you.

Does it make sense to you to counter unfounded accusations with unfounded accusations?

I was at the meet last night and thought it was full of great competition by all of the teams. Super fast times, a lot of cheering, and the kids seemed to be having a great time. I’m not sure why folks are not happy for these competitors. A lot of team records were broken - 22 is what I think the announcer said.

I did not see these fights or frothing! It was a good competition with a lot of hand shaking and congratulations, across teams as well!

I find it interesting that OKM seems laser focused on publicly dragging a team’s reputation through the mud but then is flabbergasted and insulted and in denial when their own behavior is pointed out.
