Did I go to far?

She prob met someone on that week long girls trip.

Either way seems like you aren't a fit for each other. Move on

Give her a week or so to return your keys -- if not change your locks. Also, mail her back her items if she doesn't plan to come get them.

If you ignored everyone that’s a troll on this site it would go out of business.

She sounds like the mature one. Not OP.

Hardly. Once she recognized the relationship no longer served her and got confirmation through their most recent fight, she left. That's adulting.

I know. I’m agreeing with you lol.

Op may have read immature instead of mature in your post. But I agree with both of you! Gf tried to communicate her needs, op picked a fight by being condescending and petty, gf realized there is no real future here and peaced out. Queen!

Pp* may have misread the post.

Did she really peace out though? OP kind of forced her hand to breakup with him because he was trying to breakup with her.

She didn’t respond to his nasty petty comments, she didn’t argue or yell. Even as she was leaving OP was still trying to aggravate her into a fight. She was as the only adult in this interaction.

I don’t even think op was trying to break up. He thought she was the one. Hes just immature and doesn’t know how to communicate. He writes multiple times in the op that he thought they’d moved on from X fight. He seems to lash out when confronted with any of his own faults. He probably thought they’d fight again, get over it and move on. Even him texting her the random trinkets she forgot was another way he tried to pry the door back open.

I’m not sure if these traits were present in his marriage, but he needs to do some introspection or therapy before dating again.

All of those saying he should have paused the TV, she was on the phone when she walked in.
If you want me to pause what I’m doing that’s fine but it works both ways. You need to act like I’m your priority too.
Clearly you’re not meant to be together OP but I think it’s both of you just being different.

My DH is crazy into bball and 100% pauses for me. Asking someone to pause the game WHILE you’re chatting is not unreasonable. If op wanted to feel more “wanted”, he should have said that instead of calling her needy and insulting her. Again, showing his immaturity. These are simple things he(you?) apparently figured out.

The best part is a divorcee lecturing a mid 30s woman he claimed was the one 😂. He really thought his negging would have her crawling back.

Doesn’t everyone deserve some me time?

You had all week w/o her.

True. There was only 10 minutes left in the game? We’ve been dating all this time and now it’s an issue?

Troll. And a dumb one, too.
There's never "10 minutes left" in a baseball game.

I’ll preface that I’m not the brightest when it comes go deciphering human behavior (I tend to only surround myself with straight shooters). How was texting her about her jewelry trying to pry the door back open? You should ask if the person wants their things back as it’s the right thing to do, no?

No, he stated she got off the phone as she came in. He didn’t pause the game. Totally different.

It’s just another way to get in contact and keep contact. I wasn’t there obviously, but in my own experience what I’d think happened is he cooled off, realized how bigly he f***ed up, didn’t expect it to go that far. Saw her items and used it as a way to reach out and test the waters. If she hadve been receptive he may have taken it as a “sign” that she still wanted to be together.

I can’t remember if it was in here or reddit, but I read one story about a man obsessing over his ex gf leaving half a bottle of shower gel in his bathroom. He thought that by her leaving it there she must have meant for him to contact her about it and they’d reconcile and it was all part of the plan. Everyone responded to let it go and throw it away lol.

It’s just one of those “things” people do.

Too far to keep the girl you thought was "the one"? Yeah, bro. You totally did.

She's 100% right to have left you. If you'd taken your advice and picked your battles instead of becoming a condescending jerk, listened to the fact that your "the one" girl was upset and, you know, offered comfort, reassurance or other loving responses, she'd still be around.

Instead, you showed your whole ass and she, correctly, left it where it was hanging out.

Good for her. Learn something from this. Your OP has a lot of clues about where you still need to work on yourself, guy who has been divorced and still managed to blow up a new relationship with some selfishness most adults outgrow in their early 20s. You are immature af, and yet you think you have the high ground. You do not.

This is what gets me! She wants to spend more time loving on OP and he blew up at her.

It’s always telling when men blame their “crazy” exs as well. She’s right that it’s a him problem, not an ex wife/gf problem.

It’s was 4th quarter with 10 minutes left of the nicks and pacers. I didn’t mean it was actually going to be 10 minutes…
