This is probably enough to do the job. He probably chose the spot so nobody external would see him while he was asleep. It worked for a while. The light reinforces that you've noticed and are unhappy. That makes it no longer secure for him. He will likely find a new spot. |
OP definitely tell the landlord. Any good landlord would want to know of a threat to home/tenant.
motion light- or just security lighting in general, motion activated sprinklers, actual (not just push-in) fence- all of these things should be paid for by the landlord- not you. -landlord |
Democrats love the homeless- Invite him in for tea and a shower. |

I live in a row house in Baltimore and a few years ago I found a men's winter coat and some empty energy drink bottles under our deck, which makes me think someone had slept there at least once. It was very unnerving. Agree with the suggestions for a motion-sensor light and perhaps a motion sensor sprinkler. |
Sounds like you can’t handle the vibrancy you voted for. And I’m sure you support gun control, too. Live with it. |
Exactly. If OP has a spare room, she’s owes it to this man to let him use it, to atone for her home-privilege. It’s only fair. |
She should at the very least build him a heated shed. |
And he can slash her tires to voice his displeasure at being evicted from his sleeping spot. |
Exactly what OP voted for! |
Make this your landlord's problem. Once he has been made aware he has responsibilities so if anything were to happen, the landlord now is at risk. Let him know you filed a police report so he knows there is a paper trail. |
FFS you want a GUN for using on a poor homeless man who is sleeping on the ground? |
This here. Go full Karen until landlord takes action. |
