That was my first thought. Here there would be 34 dead. It's a tragedy but they are also lucky that they don't have our un-common sense gun laws.

Where there is no gun culture, people's instinct is not to "feel lucky" it was a knife attack. 17 + people were stabbed and 6 are in critical condition. It's also one of many attacks in Europe over the past few months. It's pretty terrifying for people who live there, gun or not.

It is scary but still not as deadly as guns.

I’m sure the people who will inevitably die from this attack will be comforted by that.

What is the leading costs of death for minors in Germany? Is it guns like it is here?

I dunno. What age is a “minor” in Germany? Is it up to age 26, like it is here for your cherry picked statistic?

Whine and squirm and spout unrelated nonsense all you want. ... The number one thing that's killing our kids in this country is firearms.

Sure, as long as you insist on counting 24 year old career criminal gang members as “children”.

I agree with you. Under that definition, it IS the number one cause. You’re not lying.

Nope. Under 18.

Sure, absolutely. If you’re 18, you’re obviously also under 26. And anyone under 26 who’s died from a gun shot wound is counted in this number.

I agree with you. You are not lying in your statistic.

That’s a pretty rude thing to say. Did you think it would add to the discussion? Did it make you feel empowered?

We should choose our words carefully and not say things that reveal that we’re upset and have lost control.

Let’s be grown ups, mmm’k?

Crawl back under your NRA rock. Here are the ugly facts ...

From a report out of johns hopkins school of public health:

For third straight year, firearms killed more children and teens, ages 1 to 17, than any other cause including car crashes and cancer

So…. you want to take everyone’s guns away so car crashes and cancer can have more kids to kill?

Have you thought this through?

What does a random knife attack in Germany have to do with politics?

knives don't kill as many people as guns, and their sole purpose is not killing something, unlike guns. But, you knew that. Or maybe you didn't.

What is the purpose of a knife?

wow, you really don't know.

I use a knife to cut my vegetables and fruit.

I use a rifle to put holes in paper.

It’s an opportunity for people who want to take everyone’s guns away to talk about how much better off we’d be here if we had a lot more mass knife attacks.

Likely the result of letting in Muslims.

Well, I mean, what else were they supposed to do? The native-born Germans weren’t doing these knife attacks. Too lazy I guess. So they brought in immigrants to do the stabbings the Germans wouldn’t do themselves.

Don’t you understand how immigration even works, brah?

Of course they are not going to feel lucky. And yet they are. We have to live in a country that tortures immigrants for fun, lets citizens by assault rifles, and prioritizes the selling of silencers.

What’s wrong with silencers? They’re mandatory in many European countries for outdoor shooting ranges and hunting.

If hunters and people who go to shooting ranges don't use hearing protection that's on them. What the bill that just passed the house does is remove every reg from buying silencers--you normally have to have ATF approval.

What about people who live near shooting ranges and use wilderness areas along with hunters? If there’s an effective way to reduce gun noise, it makes sense to encourage people to use it. Your car has a muffler, doesn’t it? Why do you want people to be forced to hear gunfire?

It makes them subject to the same laws as buying a gun from a dealer.

I mean, if someone can already buy a gun and pass the background check, what difference does it make if the also buy a silencer? Frankly, silencers by themselves aren’t even guns. They can’t even shoot bullets on their own without being attached to a gun in the first place. Someone else also mentioned they are mandatory in places in Europe. I can confirm this they are mandatory in France and Sweden.

Britain just elected a Muslim to a local council seat. Born in Britain, young guy around 20.

His platform was separation of men and women in public.
