USC—overpriced school for rich kids who could hack the ivies and in a very dangerous area. |
couldn’t |
UNC OOS is cheap compared to many OOS schools |
UNC at Chapel Hill- faded blue color and faded hoops . Football program with $10 million per year Belichick and girlfriend is generating lots of good press for the school.
|
Might have to increase UNC oos tuition to pay for new football hire! |
I feel that way about all state schools. If my kid is going to have the big public school experience, why can't he do it for half the price? |
The schools aren’t all interchangeable. |
Some good schools are located in high crime areas. |
I never really understood this as you can make open the core if a student wanted. |
What? |
UNC as an OOS. Couldn't deal with higher stats needed to get in and paying a lot more than in-states with comparably much lower stats and a high acceptance rate. |
With this reasoning, you must think that every ivy reject couldn't hack it there. Do you not see that it is largely a lottery and very qualified and capable kids who go elsewhere could have done well at an ivy? |
Of the ones mine really liked but left me a bit nervous was JHU and UofC. I would have supported, but lost some sleep. |
My kid is going to one of these and the high price is a selling point to me. The people I met in college were life changing. I’m ok paying for access to kids who come from wealthy families. |
Not sure I am following the question. The open curriculum could be designed to be another college’s core, just choose those classes. |
