I think pretty much any of the super-low-admit rate schools. I assume they are filled with intense, super achieving kids. That is absolutely not who my kids are and I don't think it would be an environment where they would thrive. I don't think it's great to go to a college where you are one of the worst students! |
Dook. Because I'd rather my kid not be an a*hole. |
Red state public schools. Expensive private schools that don't move the needle in any area like Syracuse, Emory, Baylor, TCU |
Harvard and Stanford seemed like unhealthy places to go college. It's like everyone is gunning for private equity or venture capital and they are only 18 years old and know nothing except that they need to keep reaching for the brass ring forever and ever. Princeton seemed very stressful for both social and academic reasons. CMU seemed like an unhappy grind for everyone. And Penn seemed like a difficult place to be middle or upper middle class. And Columbia felt ridiculous - a brunch of privileged kids trying to be hard in NYC. |
Plus, extremely antisemitic. |
But Tim-is-thee went to Dook, and Sack-son graduated Dook! |

Crazy large public schools,Ohio State, Michigan, Texas A&M, Penn State, Arizona, etc. |

Why? Is Penn that much wealthier than other east coast privates? They also (from our tour) seemed to be obsessed with FGLI enrollment. |
Wait, Emory has a community college?? So confused. |
I think they mean Emory Oxford. |
I would add BC to this list. |
I thought Oxford was a similar admit rate to the regular college, no? |
Cal, UCLA, UNC if paying oos tuition. Big public school experience at private school price. |
