HHS to scrap covid recommendations for children, pregnant women as Hong Kong pushes pediatric covid jabs

The vaccine hasn't been mandated anywhere in a long time, what is it harming you if the relative of a cancer patient or a new baby decides to get one to protect them (which they would no longer be allowed to)?

Doesn't sound like anyone is "taking" any vaccine from anyone who wants it. It's simply not being pushed on people at this point.

I took the initial vaccines when they first came out, but no more. Way too many side effects and it doesn't prevent anyone from getting Covid.

I agree with you on a personal level but to each their own regarding whether or not the Covid vaccine is worthwhile. Government shouldn't be forcing the Covid vaccine on anyone and government shouldn't be creating barriers for anyone who may wish to be vaccinated. Like with most things, less government is better government.

PP here. Yes, I agree with you. But where is the evidence that the government is preventing anyone from taking the Covid vaccine?

Glad they are removing it from the list of recommended vaccines.

Unfortunately, the answer is yes — even young children can have lasting effects from COVID-19. A new study co-led by Mass General Brigham investigators found common patterns of lasting symptoms in school-age children and adolescents who previously were infected by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
...
Using their PASC index, the researchers estimate that in the RECOVER-Pediatrics cohort, 20% of the school-age children who previously had COVID-19 and 14% of the previously infected teenagers most likely had long COVID. These results, along with similar findings from another study published in Pediatrics, indicate that more children may have long COVID than the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported as of 2022.

Stop trying to make long COVID happen. Stop gaslighting people. We all have eyes and see that children aren’t affected by COVID, in any significant numbers.

Yay, let's go back to medieval times, when things like bubonic plague would routinely wipe out double digit percentages of the population, and when people routinely died from preventable things.

Russian and Chinese troll posters promote minimalistic government in the US, they want to weaken and destroy America. Whackadoo libertarian types also promote minimalistic government in the US, working off of magical thinking and misbelief concluding that they might be the ones to come out ahead in such a scenario. But what's the point of it when it kills the US?

Excessive government is bad, but less government isn't necessarily a good thing.

DP. Really, really sick of people like you attributing any post you disagree with to "Russian and Chinese troll posters." Guess what? Americans hold many different opinions and viewpoints, many of which probably don't align with yours. Deal with it and stop pretending there are foreign trolls anytime you read a post you want to dismiss. It only makes YOU look like the "whackadoo."

It actually just makes Russia and China seem more sane.

That's because doctors don't tend to want babies to die. That's what babies and small.children used to do before vaccinations: die in large numbers.

I guess Republicans aren't as pro life as they pretend to be.

Insurance won't pay, that appears clear. But will families still be able to get vaccinations at pharmacies? Will kids be able to get the vaccine at all? https://www.statnews.com/2025/05/15/covid-vaccine-recommendations-rfk-jr-reportedly-reversing-for-children-pregnant-women/

Why are you doing Covid hysteria 5 years later?

Just stop. If you trust The Science™️ you know that the vaccine neither stops transmission nor infection. And children have the least amount of morbidity from the virus.

Doesn't stop it, but does significantly reduce it.

DP. No, it does not. My family members take every single new Covid vaccine and all continue to get Covid. Meanwhile, I stopped after the first vaccines came out and haven't had it since. The vaccine simply does NOT stop Covid.

This is post perfectly encapsulates the problem with anti-vaxxers. They trust anecdotes while ignoring actual peer reviewed studies. This poster’s personal experience is all that matters to them,

You don't "see" subtle vascular or brain damage with your eye. Or fatigue, or brain fog, or damage to the immune system. One thing we do see is that kids continue to be hospitalized and die from covid. And deaths are likely underreported.

The OP of this thread suggested the Dept. of HHS was changing their stance on Covid Vaccines which could possibly lead to barriers for those still seeking updated vaccines. It appears HHS is ending their recommendations of getting updated Covid vaccines which isn't necessarily a barrier. My point was forward looking to may or may not happen.

I don't think government should have any role whatsoever in influencing medical decisions made by individuals for themselves or for their dependents. I advocated for and encouraged the Covid Vaccine in 2021 but I didn't support government mandates of any kind and I don't support government making it more difficult for anyone who wants to remain updated with Covid vaccines to do so.

Actually that is not true. babies under 1 are severely affected. vaccinating pregnant women and infants actually makes sense. Infants especially since then the advantages of immunity last the longest.

It killed over a million Americans and you're acting like it didn't even happen. FFS

It seems like the GOP killing of Americans is almost a bonus for them.

A "let's cull the herd of anyone over 50 or already ill" type of thing.
That was Democrats keeping people in nursing homes, while DeSantis put them in hospitals.

Lmao.

Mainstream = people that understand what is happening and the education and qualifications to make medical decisions.

Yet victim of the of the twisted mentality that their ignorant opinion is somehow equal to research and education.

If you're glad kids live longer now, you should thank plumbing not vaccines.

Vaccine injuries are exceedingly rare, but you, maybe we should have you checked out.

The whole protect women and children went out the window when democrats kept schools closed much, much longer than needed.

In an effort to own the republicans they decimated a generation of children and set women in the workforce back.
