Agree with a PP about chicken, though it's so tricky I don't expect it. I love it if done right (by someone else not me)

Brisket is always way too fatty.

Eat the lean part.

Flag cake!!

A grilled hot dog says summer!

Whatever. stupid MAGA.

Why are you so rude? It’s Memorial Day weekend. Barefoot Contessa has a flag cake recipe in her cookbook from a long time ago before there was any such thing as MAGA. Please try to be polite.

The high acidity in the store mayo is a pathogen killer. Moreover, if DCUM is a representative sample, it's a possibility your host is using Miracle Whip, in which case salmonella would be considered an improvement.

Its not about safety- it's disgusting and low class.

+1 to the PPs who mentioned toppings. I went to a cookout once that had so many options, like sauteed mushrooms, those crispy onion straws, jalapenos, chili for the hotdogs, blue cheese, different types of pickles, etc. It was like they looked at a Red Robin menu and put out all the different toppings they had for their burgers.

My brother has a smoker and his brisket and salmon are next level.

For straight grilling, I'm partial to kebabs, I like getting some grilled mushrooms and peppers in with some marinated beef.

I'll decide that when I see the pasta salad.
