Tomato and Mozz appetizer
Pasta Salad with actual veggies in it, NO mayo Chips (never eat these at home) Toppings for the burgers More than 1 meat in case 1 looks suspect... (e.g. some do not eat dark meat) |
|
All the sides (on ice, so no worries): coleslaw, potato salad, pasta salad, watermelon, deviled eggs
Burger like lettuce, tomato, and pickles Baked beans Flag cake!! A grilled hot dog says summer! |

Is this grill BBQ, or slow & low?
Brisket if slow and low. Kebabs if grill. |
+1 |
Burgers grilled are almost never good. Burger on a flattop cooked in its own fat is the way. |
| I like a good hot dog and watermelon. |
Whatever. stupid MAGA.

A Santa Maria style tri-tip, which is pretty easy. Ribs if you have the time. Good sausages, often smoked. I like chicken too, but the griller really needs to know what they're doing with chicken. Same with fish, which is also very good in capable hands. Grilled vegetables, but they don't sit for long. Need to eat immediately.
I think basic things like hamburgers are pretty tricky bc you really need to know technique to get it perfect. And I'm always happy when I come across a hunter, because these people are invested in their meats and usually do a good job on the grill. This is mostly all grilling. Slow, southern style bbq is a different thing. |

DCUM is too concerned about mayo-based safety.
The high acidity in the store mayo is a pathogen killer. Moreover, if DCUM is a representative sample, it's a possibility your host is using Miracle Whip, in which case salmonella would be considered an improvement. |
| I really liked when they bbq shrimp on skewers. |
| Pickled eggs and beets |
Brisket obviously. Chopped pork. Decent sausage. Also a good selection of so-called "craft" beers on ice. Bottles only obviously. No health conscious or civilized person drinks from plastic lined cans. |

Pulled pork, ribs, smoked chicken, or probably smoked turkey.
Brisket is always way too fatty. |
