ICE Rumors of raids targeting nannies in D.C at playgrounds and parks cause fear and panic.

They were going to "arrest" anyone with brown skin, regardless of legal status. See the problem?

I talk to a very happy Trump supporter regularly. He told me he was wary of the mainstream media and only watched individuals he thought he could trust.

He had never heard of international students having their visas revoked for sometimes minor traffic violations, and sometimes no reason at all; he had never heard of Germans, French, British, Australian, Canadian citizens being detained at the border and refused entry even though their visas or tourist waivers were all in order; and he had never thought of "gang member" deportees being anything other than what the government claimed, and thinks that due process could very well be minimized for such situations, given what he thinks is the urgency of dealing with so many migrant criminals. Furthermore, he claimed that his news sources had proof that Kilmar Abrego Garcia was a gang member and had been caught in a human trafficking operation (the NYT says he had a deportation protection and was never found guilty of human trafficking).

So clearly the people who think we're all hunky-dory are insulated from the certain pieces of news. They can only be reached if we fall into a severe recession. My dear MAGA friend thinks the tariffs will cause short-term pain for long-term gain.

I am most scared about the misinformation. I've engaged with a hardcore maga relative and concluded they couldn't take any other position based on the news they consume. How can we get people to search for truth?

How? Isn’t that around 100 million people?

This is most people. What you listed has affected a very very small % of people. Very few people have been detained at the border. Most of what everyone is upset about - conservative and liberal - is entirely from the media.

The truth is most Americans don’t care if illegal immigrants are deported. They just don’t.

Actually, the truth is that most Americans WANT illegal immigrants deported. They care very much about this issue.

That is a story you made up in your head.

In reality, US Marshalls were executing a warrant to take a murderer into custody.

That park has a lot of drug dealing and has gotten sketch. After the guy was shot outside The Saratoga, his shooter ran across the playground in broad daylight. Responsible parents have their kids play elsewhere.

This is the consequence when law enforcement throws away its legitimacy and hires brownshirts. It loses the trust and compliance of the public.

People should not stand around playing hero when US Marshalls are bringing violent people into custody. The other day it was at The Chesapeake but not too long ago, at The Kenmore, the felon threw a loaded gun out the window as US Marshalls closed in, which fired when it landed. The ANC for Chevy Chase lived nearby and was outspoken about it. Best to give dangerous criminals a wide berth.

The US Marshalls are not going after Mr. Rogers.

Share your facts about the US Marshalls Service and put down the wine, drama llama.

Because the Federal government is creating panic among the populace with its paramilitary operations in our communities.

Remember, this is the government that pardoned an army of traitors that tried to stop an election and kidnap the Vice President. The is the government that arrested their supervisors in Congress. Until the traitor tyrant is exposed, people have no choice but to resist his actions.

Reality:

The US Marshals primarily focus on fugitive investigations, apprehending individuals wanted for federal crimes. They also play a key role in sex offender investigations, ensuring compliant registration, and supporting the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in recovering missing children. Additionally, they are involved in asset forfeiture, managing and selling assets acquired through illegal activities.

Imagine if we had a government that wasn't constantly starting brawls in the streets and terrorizing the public.

It was US Marshalls executing an arrest warrant for a murderer. Your story is not based in reality.

Are people opposed to US Marshalls executing judicial warrants for murderers to be put in custody? Is that something residents of Forest Hills genuinely oppose?

Are you ok with violent criminals living in The Chesapeake and roaming the neighborhood?

What if it was your loved one who was the murder victim, would it be ok then?
