https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/05/10/ice-nannies-parks-dc-fears/ Any rational person could see ICE doing something like this. It’s not like they’re determined anyone status or targeting illegals. They go on raids with Fox News to cause fear and panic. How long before ICE actually does this? |
| All the upper NW progressives soiled their underwear and ran to the park to secure social media glory. All they accomplished was obstructing the US Marshall Service attempting to arrest a murder suspect that was imported into our neighborhood by the people they voted for. Sometimes I’m embarrassed to live here. |
Yes so embarrassing. US citizens scared of having their children kidnapped or left in the street as ICE arrest nannies. Oh and by the way the nannies in NW DC are legal. Rich people use nanny agencies that vet and verify everything about their employees. This also means you are paying taxes, social security, etc. You would not know this because you watch Fox. |
I feel the same way. |
| Even if they’re legal I don’t think they’re being careful about their arrests. This should be a real fear. |
| I dont know how everyone doesn't think this is reminiscent of 1930s Germany. |
| We should set up tactical armed response units nearby to counter any criminal ICE thugs that try. |
Even if what you post is true that they it was the Marshal Service arresting a murder suspect, are you saying that you wouldn't run to the park to get your children if you knew there was a murder suspect there? That doing so is securing social media glory because children belong in the middle of the arrests of violent criminals? |
Not my post. It’s the Washington Post. The parents who rushed there knew nothing about the murder suspect. I know some of the parents mentioned in the article. Their kids are grown. They went to the park to achieve social media immortality by fighting the orange man. The silent majority in the Forest Hills neighborhood have been asking for law and order for several years and are incredibly grateful for the police presence. |
Not all are legal in AU Park, neighbor. |
| ICE isn't following due process and you can't actually tell anything without due process. ICE has arrested and detained US citizens. |
| I just can’t get over the image of these work from home moms scurrying over to the playground in their yoga pants in the middle of the day. Gripped with fear that they might have to cancel their coffee dates for the rest of the week and actually watch their kid because their underpaid, undocumented nanny got deported. It’s like an SNL skit brought to life. The good news is that they still get to go to coffee after all. That bad news is that the murder suspect was able to slip away during all the commotion. Nice job resistance! |
| The article is confusing. The mom is “struggling” with how to talk about “this” with her toddler children. Which part? The make believe ICE raid or the real murder suspect living down the street? These folks live in an alternate reality. It’s incredible that I pass among these people in the grocery store. |
| ICE arrested the Mayor of Newark. They will take your nanny. Arrest em all and let the El Salvador courts sort it out... |
| Why does anyone believe what ICE says? Who knows if there really was a murder suspect they were looking for. They obviously have lied about who they are looking for in the past and lied that the people they deported were criminals. From everything that has been going on I think it was right and normal for the moms to go there and get their kids. |
