Too much redundant overexplaining. You also can't have a twist at the end of a book if you have never really developed a plot. They are at best young adult. Although my 7th grader read two and thought they were awful. We will not be supporting this type of work.

Don't break your back with this kind of service to humanity. I'm sure the stick up your ass really helps the cause.

Easy Lady. Don't get so twisted. I thought you loved lighthearted dumb things. Why so toxic?

Me too!
Yes she is both a M.D. as well as an author.

I just wrapped up her fantastic novel “The Boyfriend.”

Am excited for her next one!

I know I always enjoy the time that I spend heavily engrossed in one of her suspenseful stories.

Her novel “The Housemaid” is actually going to be made into a major motion picture in the near future.

I like her books but I feel like they all have the same/similar plot line. After 3 or 4 of her books I was ready to move on.

Just finished The Tenant. The characters seem really fake - who talks like that? The plot was supposed to be “twisty” but was just dumb. Do people really like these books? Do you not roll your eyes a thousand times while reading? I don’t consider myself a literary snob in the least but I don’t understand the appeal here at all.

I think people either love or hate her books. I am on a Psychological Thriller FB page and she gets multiple rave reviews. I read a couple of the Housemaid series and thought they were entertaining but that’s about it.

One of them seemed like a direct copy of B. A. Paris “Behind Closed Doors” which was published in 2016!

Why does this entire debate sound like it was written by AI? Not the book forum’s usual style certainly…

I have read every book she has authored up to date.
Hoping she releases something new really soon!

Am anxiously awaiting a new read from her hopefully by Oct.

Until then I am keeping myself occupied w/a few of Ruth Ware’s novels.

Currently am reading The Woman in Suite 11.
Just started yesterday - - am already five chapters in and it looks promising so far……

I'd be curious what other authors people love or hate. I've tried 2 Frieda McFadden books and I can't stand them (I tried the second one thinking it might be better than the first, I was wrong). I also can't stand Colleen Hoover. I tried two of her books as well and hated them both. Ruth Ware and Lisa Foley are fine but I don't love them and generally only pick them when there isn't anything else available. I do love mysteries though! Stephen King is probably my favorite author as in I'll read everything of his and almost always love it. He's not the "best" author I've ever read from a prose perspective but I think he's a great author in that his books are very engaging and well done. I also like Michael Connelly and Jonathan Kellerman, which I don't consider to be particularly "good" authors but their books are good, if that makes sense. I don't find myself rolling my eyes a thousand times at stupid dialogue like I did with Frieda McFadden and Colleen Hoover.
