I'm the one who liked that more t-shirty dress (yes, that's a good way to describe it) and I love this, too.

But I am 1000% not trying to get OP to dress to my taste! If you like blingier dresses, please get a blingy dress. I'm probably much too boring!

OP here and this has been a great thread. Love seeing folks suggestions. I realize I should have provided a bit more background in the beginning. Also, special thanks to the YT link to the most recent gala - aligns with my sense that it is mostly cocktail attire but largely muted.

I'm the PP. I don't feel one way or another about TS, so definitely didn't get the reference. But I also don't think it's exactly the right vibe for her, despite the fact that I posted it. I just love the dress.
