ISO cocktail attire suggestions for a gala

Given that it's a "spring gala" maybe this:

Or just cocktail gala attire: https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/helsi-florence-embroidered-strapless-midi-dress-prod275180499?childItemId=NMT61RE_&msid=4882073&navpath=cat000000_cat000001_cat58290731_cat43810733_cat9360738&page=0&position=7

Those are both stunning. I'm only 5' 4" so am thinking a little less activity on the dress.

What colors look good on you?

This is a pretty color, but not if you're an "autumn" and look better in warm tones.

It's the same dress in each link.

It feels a little boring for a crystal themed gala, especially as a co-host of your table.

What would you do - if a petite size 10?

I'm the PP who liked the (probably what another PP is calling "princessy" dresses) from NM. But I go to a lot of these as someone who is (working on the wording here) prominent and generally need to be ready for photos. Plus, I enjoy clothes.

I posted a few links for you (the blue dresses) but I'm 5'8" and a size 4 so I might be looking at the wrong cut. Let me know if any of the previous ones are close.

I also went to the one you posted and found this. (I think what throws me about the dress you posted is the top looks like a baggy t-shirt in satin, which gives a more laid back vibe. Even the shoes the model is wearing could be worn with a dressy suit.

This one has a little more oomph.

"Crystal Party" - what does that even mean?

For Mount Sinai? Wear what you like - doesn't look like a lot of people stress out about it.

I posted all the frillier dresses. If this is the event don't wear any of my suggestions.

I've loved some of your suggestions - TY. For me, I have small facial/neck features, so I tend to go with a less "princessy" look, then supplement the simple with a statement bracelet or clutch, etc. And I'm now more of a 10, so another reason to keep it simple. Always need a defined waist.

Navy is a great color for me as are some more jewel greens.

If it’s DC people don’t dress up as much as you’d think. Often it’s elevated work wear.

NP and I like this because it seems dressy but not princessy - seems like something that a confident person would wear

I don't think confidence is the right word. I think it reads this isn't a special night. Which is fine. Just don't mix up the two.

That's not how it reads to me. To me it reads like someone who feels like they belong.
