Teenager dresses

Also, yes it is a sundress. 40 year olds and 15 year olds wear sundresses. But there are usually small differences, apparent when one is wearing it. For example, I bet the fabric is thin on that dress and maybe even it is a little seethrough. Also, I bet that subtlties in the cut of the dress are more flattering to a youthful figure.

I do think it’s a nice dress option for what is OP asking for. I also think as a PP said, it makes a big difference if OP’s daughter is 13 vs 16.

Oh, brother. Are you the same poster who prissily scolds anyone liking clothing you disapprove of? Spare us all. That dress is darling and would look great on a wide range of ages, cherry print or solid.

I'm 56 and would happily wear the cherry print dress to a bbq, maybe a 4th of July party.

Someone needs to buy the Abercrombie dress and report back!

Why can’t older women just stick to their age clothing/stores?

Search midi length dresses on Anthro.

Some dresses are short or with cut outs but you can find appropriate dresses here.

Creepy religious tradwife vibes at that store.

So you think Christian = “creepy” and “tradwife”? That is offensive.

Try Francesca’s too. Some are less expensive versions of AS

It’s definitely gives southern “hot girl Christian” vibes.
It’s like the Bama, Baylor, TCU, LSU of clothing stores.

My DD has a few anthropologie dresses. In same boat as you now. I seek something not too short and not strappy.

We’re in the same boat. My graduating senior just sent me this link to the House of CB graduation dresses.

It looks like of the old Victoria’s Secret catalogs from the 90s to me.

Are these considered appropriate for events other than date nights now?

NP but sorry, just the fact that you refer to the dress as “darling” just underscores PP’s point that it’s too young for a 40-year-old.
Also, not sure you are picking up on the very obvious nod to hot-girl virginity symbolism there, but that’s the purpose of the cherry print. There is no doubt that a pervy dude deliberately selected this pattern for that purpose. I refuse to buy my DD cherry-print undergarments or cheeky clothing like that. So
Misogynistic.

The issue isn’t exactly the dresses.
It’s the styling of the model in what appears to be the equivalent of a push-up water bra from the 90s.
Seriously. Her girls are practically spilling over the top and she’s wearing a size too tight in every shot.
I bet you can order one of those in an appropriate size and your daughter could pull it off in a much less revealing way.

Which is neither “creepy” nor “tradwife.”

Yes. If you look at the reels posted by young women graduating college, this is exactly what they are wearing.

Sexualized metaphor. And has been for a very long time, at least in Gen X world.

See Breakfast Club movie for reference. Claire is a 🍒
