Im sure that's what many Germans said too. "I was just following orders!" Do we learn nothing from history? Freedom isn't free. It occasionally requires sacrifices and acts of bravery. If everyone just carries out the Nazis orders, well sorry hun, you're a Nazi helping a Nazi regime. They can't do evil if regular workers won't carry out the orders. Stop waiting for someone else to save us. WE have to save us.

Saving silly DEI is hardly the moral high ground of saving Jews. Please get a grip.

Do you typically invent specious arguments no one made in an attempt to prove your point? One would think if you were so obviously correct, you could argue the points that have actually been made, but alas.

You have to love posters who jump immediately to comparing things to the Nazi regime.

Many conservatives adopted the "freedom isn't free" and "we have to save us" perspective during the Obama and Biden administrations, but were told to shut up, or worse, were targeted by those administrations for complaining. Conservatives made the same argument about those government employees who chose not to speak out against the excesses of DEI.

Not true at all. We do not want all the career people to leave. That would be worse for the American people than what we have now.

But you can all strike. Apparently 3% of the population needs to do this to make the regime fall. There’s info on IG, but can’t remember what it’s called.

If we strike, our patients suffer, and our decades-long investments in biomedical research are destroyed. Again, the work done at NIH can’t just be shut down on a whim or picked up by some random replacement - it doesn’t work like that.

Then you're complicit. Can't have it both ways. Resist or be complicit.

I’m just an unhappy American taxpayer and voter.

All of us who aren’t already in our revolutionary bunkers are, to some extent, complicit, even if we’ve voted against Trump whenever we could.

All any of us can do is to try to keep moving forward and do our best to resist.

There are many rank and file NIH workers who have nothing to do with the grant funding. Nothing. What do you expect them to do in this circumstance?

Second this.

Thank you. Being called a Nazi, for doing a job that helps the American people. Not breaking laws. Not doing shady, unethical cr@p. Just showing up and trying to keep the government running for the benefit of the American people is disheartening. But we have a lot of nasty comments directed at us these days, from a Elon on down. At the end of the day, we have to look at ourselves in the mirror.

Reality: Trump won less than half the popular vote. And his approval rating is currently deeply underwater. He may have power an vengeance, but he does not have a mandate.

I'm talking more specifically about the people carrying out the directives we all know are wrong. The regime cannot achieve it's goals without bureaucrats carrying out the orders. All of us need to start thinking for ourselves whether what we're being asked to do at work is right. The excuse of simply following orders is a weak one. If we want to have a democracy when this is finished, people can't blindly carry out directives they know are wrong.

Who are the pilots flying these folks to these foreign prisons? Who are the people filing the paperwork to terminate very much needed projects? If you are the people helping them accomplish all this evil, wake up and start resisting! Slow roll your work. Screw up the paperwork. Forget to send it. Ask endless clarifying questions. Etc. Don't just think to yourself "this is wrong" while literally filing the paperwork to destroy the country.

Now you all understand what it was like for people to get the covid vaccine under coercion of losing their job.

Just quit, right?
