UGA or UF

However, I learned that as of this morning, dorms for next fall are full - but that there is a waitlist. I read that there is a good chance of getting off the waitlist for housing - BUT you need to sign the housing contract now if you are interested in attending UF and living On-Campus. If you still can't decide, UF is one of the few schools where there are plenty of off campus apartments within walking distance (in some cases even closer than some of the dorms).

This is one of the most laughable lines...I am pretty sure UGA is VERY well recognized in Georgia. BTW, UVA is VERY well recognized in the state of Virginia.

Both are close enough in the rankings to not matter, and both are known in the Southeast if you decide to stay in that area after graduation.

+1 UGA has more southerners. UF has more northern transplants from south Florida areas. Athens is prettier and has more history than Gainesville. Depends on which you prefer.

And little else matters.

Having spent time at both UGA and UF, I strongly disagree. I think UF and Gainesville are far superior to UGA/Athens.

why?

Because different schools have different programs or better programs.

Kids change majors all the time. Go to the college that the kid likes best. They’re both top flagships.

It’s a waste of time and money to change majors.

Ok…but kids still do.

I actually don’t think you’re correct on this. College factual states UF and UGA both have 11% out of state students.

Depends who you ask. For my family it’s a minus others feel more at home.

Maybe but Florida has more transplants to begin with and is pretty diverse as is.
