Welcome to being like the rest of the nation + going into the office every day, actually working and figuring out how to get kids to and from practices during the week.

My prediction is that many DMV people are sitting on a pile of money + will stick around the area for a couple of years trying to wait out Trump for another gravy train with a new administration.

I'm not a government employee, but I do live in the DMV. Where do you live may I ask?

I hope Trumps next phase is to take all gov agencies left over after DOGE and move them out of DMV to places like Cleveland, St Louis, Salt Lake, etc + continue to make reporting into an office mandatory.

Provide opportunities to the people that voted him into office not the ones that didn't.

There's no reason fed gov needs to be centralized in a single area.

Wouldn't it save more money to let people work from home? Then they could live anywhere not just in one area. There is plenty of data that shows remote employees are more productive than in office ones.

It really depends on the club. Driving from Loudoun to Springfield in rush hour to play on a U10 pre-GA that's not going away. Alternatively, Woodbridge to Springfield to play on the C team will be in jeopardy.

I have studies that show people that work from home achive 10% of those that go into the office.

Sorry, everyone knows the truth and the grift is up.

Go back to the way it was before the Covid lockdown and work from home boondoggle. Soccer world survived just fine before.

So you know nothing about the federal government. Thanks for providing your commentary. Look at where federal employees currently are then get back to us.

Hahaha, sounds like you're starting to sweat. No worries things are changing and either you update and adapt or get left behind. This is something you've never heard before because your a gov lifer. But it's true.

Funny I work for an agency with your backwards views you probably support. Me and several others will leave voluntarily once we qualify for incentives to leave. You will get your wall and other technology that isn't needed and spend way more in the long run because any due diligence about what we are buying is out the window. Not really relevant, I will retire early and drive my kid whenever it's needed. Not sure how you win in this scenerio except thinking the government doesn't do anything for you. You will find out soon enough.

TDS even in youth soccer forums…SMH.

The US added 228k jobs last month despite riffs in many Gov’t departments.

Wish there was a peer reviewed study on the relationship between WFH govt employees’ and travel soccer success/involvement. Anecdotally, I’ve seen a lot of examples over the last five years, but I’ve also seen people belonging to other professions jumping through hoops. So who knows

Biden lost over 25% of the DJIA in 2022 and everything was fine just like it will be this time around. #TDS

I do computers and I know that 90% of what you call "work" can be programmatically addressed in an EDW. Which is what all private businesses have standardized on.

Retire have fun.

Those jobs were created thanks to previous admin. Normally companies have a budget and post their vacancies based on those budgets.

We can cut 25% of government workforce and nobody outside DC Metro will notice or care. Also noticed all my government worker neighbors cutting their lawns on the weekends now.

With return to the office less parents will accept practice times between 5 and 6pm. Less time to take kids to soccer summer camps.

Thoughts?

Most likely lose about 1/2 the clubs in the area will go belly up. In our neighborhood we would see like 2-3 houses on the market each year. Now it is 2-3 per block and those houses are not selling at current prices.

Word is the World Cup will be moved out of the US.

With "return to office"? What about job loss?

Not everyone will be able to afford the costs anymore. You might have small teams or fewer teams. You might have less developed players on your team of developed players. Who knows?
