depression impact to DMV youth soccer

What is the impact the looming local depression will cause to local youth soccer? Less kids playing?

With return to the office less parents will accept practice times between 5 and 6pm. Less time to take kids to soccer summer camps.

Thoughts?

Yes summer camps drop.off and picky will be a problem

Entertaining a lower club for proximity. It's always been a problem but RTO and increased traffic make it worse.

A few families may decide to leave the area. We have 2 fiends from ES, who are selling and leaving this summer. 1 is in cheer and 1 is in soccer.

Keep an eye on turnout at big club U9-U10 tryouts. Good indicator of discretionary spending.

Maybe on the boys side less people will be spending money on ECNL for kids to go D3. It’s not worth the money. 10k a year

there are a lot of us smiling on the sidelines suffering in silence from getting riffed or bullied into deferred resignation and return to office.

Clubs should tread carefully…. And be kind as do the team families.

know some families on the bubble of leaving soccer or just doing HS. This summer will be interesting

Are you drunk at 8 am? Most of the local clubs only missed one season-spring 2020- during Covid.
