What was the point of the original post? $13 is a bargain for coffee and a scone downtown.

That’s a terribly unhealthy lunch. No one should ever eat scones and you should definitely not be drinking coffee at noon.

You're fine as long as you get some broccoli.

In practice I just need more caffeine to get my fix though.

I had tried this, and I started noticing basically any of the cruciferous vegetables work. Even a salad with lettuce.

I want to KEEP the caffeine in my system, not remove it! I do eat a lot of broccoli though.

So bored, aren’t you? I work in midtown Manhattan and would not be obnoxious enough to try to claim that $13 is a ‘bargain’ for a coffee and scone.

unless you are a fiction writer

You sound like a #^* when a lot of staff was laid off

Dp

It's RTO for me because I've been full time telework since 2005.

Then my 20 year old staffer would say “I am so tired!” in response to Good Morning “how are you?”

?? How does your situation make your coworker not tired? I hate this BS. I have two kids and I also completely accept others can be tired too, even without kids! Moms aren’t the only people allowed to be tired.

So much for RTO helping downtown business. As far as I can tell, only WMATA is getting more money due to RTO … and ironically that money comes from the feds.

As has been noted. You have a job so shut your pie hole and stop complaining. No one held a gun to your head to purchase a gross over priced coffee and scone.

No one is forcing you to pay DC takeout prices.

Or make them. One cup of flour makes four. You can even cook them in a toaster oven and freeze the extras.

OP here. I make really good scones. Do I have time to bake after RTO? No, I do not.

It takes 10 minutes to whip up a batch, then you bake them. That takes no effort. With dish washing time you’re 15 minutes all in. Double or triple the batch and it’s 20 minutes once a month. Hardly worth whining over.

You might need to see a therapist, you sound unhinged.
