Coffee and scone = $13

I stopped wasting money on buying coffee and snacks several years ago. Get a moccamaster and an insulated mug. Problem solved.

No one is forcing you to pay DC takeout prices.

Or make them. One cup of flour makes four. You can even cook them in a toaster oven and freeze the extras.

This. No way I am paying what the cafes charge for a plain drip coffee.

sorry to break it to you, but the false justifications for RTO are the same false justifications for RIFs and terminations.

OP here. I do need to get out for a break during the day but will probably just get a McDonald’s coffee and sit on a bench.

I get that. Coffee used to be about the least expensive thing you could do to get some socialization. I took my coffee money and joined a gym.

OP here. I make really good scones. Do I have time to bake after RTO? No, I do not.

I just paid 65 dollars for 8 small ‘street’ style tacos with a side of consommé sauce for dc and me for lunch. From a small hole in the wall take out place.

It’s ridiculous

No shame in that. The $ pain is real.

It's crazy that a drip coffee goes for $5. I used to enjoy walking breaks during the day, where I'd occasionally get a coffee at starbucks or wherever. No more!
