Should the democrats split between a Democratic and Progressive party?

I thought this already happened- it’s why you have people like Tulsi Gabbard & RFK in the White House.

Exactly. There’s no room for anti-establishment in The Dem Party. The funny thing is that the trans golks activists are in the mainstream Dem party, not the prog party. Which reveals they are a deliberate distraction.

Every time you whine about Trump, Republican control of the government extends another year into the future. Trump isn’t your problem anymore. He already beat you, again and again and again. Now your problem is the Republican candidates of 2028, 2032, and 2036. Your party is auditioning for those election years now. And the voters do not like what they’re seeing from you.

That’s funny. Because all MAGA did for Bidens administration was complain about him and his policies. We absolutely need to make every election about Trump, his incompetence, and his extremism. If the voters want an authoritarian state and vote for more MAGA then so be it - there’s no hope for the country at that point.

The divide is between the far-left social agenda with which virtue-signaling elites have hijacked the party versus what regular Democratic voters want.

Close. The trans activism is pushed by billionaires like the Pritzkers and Martine Rothblatt. That's why you have mainstream Democratic politicians parroting absolute foolishness. They've taken money to do it.

Internecine warfare is good for the Republican party. Until the Ds align under a platform which more than 50% of the electorate can support, they will remain irrelevant.

Dems got unmarried women, renters, giv workers, black folks, trans folks, childless, queer folks, etc. Reps got the fellas, the marrieds, the parents, the homeowners , the private sector workers, and whatnot

Different strokes for different folks

Not really. Each side has their crazies while the middle is swinging back and forth trying to run away from them.

This. Each election we basically get to choose which of the two crazy sides is less crazy. It is no fun.

Jesus Christ 🙄 What actual policy stances do progressives have that is so crazy? I don't mean the ridiculous social stuff that gets attributed to progressives. That crap is actually just standard liberal lipservice. Progressives are about class politics, protecting the working class average American from the capital class seeking to exploit them.

So tell me, what actual progressive policies do you find just too far out there as to compare us to frickin MAGA. Raising the minimum wage? Supporting strong unions? Demilitarizing the police? Stopping the profit motive from ruining everything good about this country?

I'm so tired of this anti progressive crap. Rejecting progressive policies in favor of corporate donors is exactly why Democrats can't win an election. You all are entirely out of touch with what the majority of voters want and need. Fascism is capitalism in decay. Progressivism IS the answer.

That is NOT far left. It's a distraction meant to demonize progressives and you are parroting the propaganda. Progressives want to help working people. We want to end the corporate hold on BOTH PARTIES and get government back to working for the people. All of them.

They are deranged phonies and sellouts. Nobody but MAGA thinks anything of them.

Progressives brought us Muslims who didn't want to vote for Biden because of Gaza

Progressives brought us blacks who didn't want to vote for Kamala because the didn't think she was black enough

Progressives brought us deranged GOP attack ads accusing every Democrat of wanting men to take over womens sports and bathrooms

I'd respect progressives a lot more if they actually focused first and foremost on things that will win elections in purple and red districts, like better wages, healthy affordable groceries, affordable housing, environmental protection, safe drugs and so on. Not to mention, first and foremost fixing campaign finance and election laws so that oligarchs like Musk can no longer buy themselves a President.

Save all that other crap for another day.

2020-2024, there were next to zero progressive policies implemented. Name one that you can hang your hat on. Last one vaguely progressive I can think of was Obamacare. I'm so glad Trump removed the mandate on those insanely expensive policies.

THIS! I don’t want to hear any more about pronouns, trans athletes, or sanctuary cities. We’ve lost all common sense.

The Democratic Party would benefit in some ways if the progressives split off. They are a dead weight in some ways, and are pushing positions that just aren’t viable in this country as yet.

I think many people aren’t aware of how socially backward the country is overall. We still have a lot of people living in the 1800s to early 1900s. Of course the dems would lose numbers, but it might be less damaging than having to carry unpopular policies like a millstone around their necks.

Modern Progressives are mirror of MAGA, politically.
Their political philosophy is hating the US government for its sins and wanting to destroy it, with no interest in the compromise required to run a nation of disagreeing people under a balance of power. Until they learn to compromise, they will only be complicit in the MAGA razing of the nation.

Republicans and MAGA are in full agreement. Something like 91% of republicans support Trump.

So they learned a lesson from Nancy Pelosi about wielding political power? Is that what you're saying?
