Should the democrats split between a Democratic and Progressive party?

Progressives cannot stand liberals and do not agree at all with the liberals on how the party should run and what its agenda should look like.
Liberals blame progressive ideologies and policies for the 2024 loss and the turn towards an unpopular Democratic Party. Liberals want to move further right. Progressive policies are widely supported when you do not mention they are progressive suggestions. These are two different parties under a tent so wide it looks like the horizon. Why is it that these two parties do not split? |

+1, very few progressives have gotten any work done, but they do complain a lot about the party. The only progressive whose done substantial work is Elizabeth Warren, and she's taken a complete backseat on publicity. |

The two are not the same. MAGA essentially pushed the GOP in the direction supported by the oligarchs and evangelicals. They had the support of large donors, thus allowing their takeover of the party. Progressives, on the other hand, want to move the party away from the status quo and call for policy that would challenge the oligarchs and big money donors. It's why the Dems are so incredibly hostile to them. Dems know where their bread is buttered, and they prefer to pay lipservice to progressive social issues than to support anything that truly threatens the capital class. The capital class will never allow the Democrats to be anything other than the party of lipservice. They are a heat sink for revolutionary energy. They make people feel good but will not ever do anything to actually challenge the status quo. If progressives want to gain a foothold in this country, they will have to do it outside the infrastructure of the DNC, because the DNC will always kill or co-opt any progressive movement within the party itself. |

Dems got unmarried women, renters, giv workers, black folks, trans folks, childless, queer folks, etc. Reps got the fellas, the marrieds, the parents, the homeowners , the private sector workers, and whatnot Different strokes for different folks |

Yes really. Look it up. dcurbanmoms understand voter demographic the least, because they are Democrats with demographic characteristics that would make them Republicans anywhere but in a few blue cities. Women really are sorting themselves into different camps. Single people and married people. Government workers and private sector workers. Look it up. It’ll surprise you. Most dcurbanmoms don’t know the demographics because they aren’t flattering to our egos. We’re supposed to be the fancy party! How can our median incomes be lower than the redneck party’s?! |
