FVU boys

Bunch of whining McLean parents on here. Sour grapes. Mclean Union boys were not as good as Brave boys. Mclean boys got their shot this season, and now will be leaving to lower teams either back in McLean or other clubs. Its not universal as some brave boys are being cut as well. A number of Mclean boys on Brave Union have been training and guesting with Vienna ECNL RL teams. Even they don't want to go back to Mclean. The Mclean Green teams are abysmal in ECNL RL, and that will continue at MLSN 2. No amount of lipstick on the pig will change that unless outside talent comes in.

why would outside talent want to come in? both boys FVU and Mclean (U13/U14) are the bottom of their current standings.

The lure of the next big shiny league is what attracts new talent. CCL, CCL2, GA, DA, ECNL, ECNL RL, MLSM, MLSN2, Aspire. All billed as the best pathway for development and scouting. Most of the DMV clubs have dabbled in all of these leagues. Its simply rinsing and repeating to extract that dollar out of us.

My son had been going to the 09 tryouts with this clown and he's been giving offers to last years players a few big kids. I've seen a few really technical players just get overlooked over and over again, but yet they are studs on their current teams. Shocker my son opted to stay with his current ENCL team and fight for mins as opposed to coming here. They are following the NVA playbook of big and fast, without any skills.
NVA is not that lol. Sounds like a bitter person. Any stud on a ECNL team would have gotten an offer. Yours obviously is not a stud.

the point is the club on boys side can't recognize talent because they are not good coaches. if you have been there you would understand. a stud could certainly be ignored!

if you want to be on a team with over 22 kids then by all means. They have crap talent. Over roster then kids cant dress for games. Stay away from club.

The boys team will be not be good next year 2025-2026, all the good talented kids left to either VDA, SYC, NVA or ASA (U13/U14/U16 boys). The kids that stayed will not be able to hang, they will not be competitive, it will worse than what it is now. And the new players they get will be the ones that didn’t get into another club, so it will be the 2nd or 3rd tier players, mostly 3rd tier.

How can you find out how many people are in the roster without being on the team? I know we can ask the coach but would they be honest? and do they actually know since all people have not accepted the offer?

You can never find out.
That’s why the website shows “projected” 20+ kids per team. Which will definitely be more than 20, probably 25. It’s all about the $$$.

They won’t tell you the roster size. Last year we weren’t told the roster until the first practice which was 24! A couple kids weren’t rostered for over half the games. And a couple that were rostered played 0-5 min a half. Btw, those kids are coming back for next year so even larger rosters? I find it crazy they didn’t cut those kids. Stay away!

Which age groups are you guys talking about? Thank you for sharing this. Just trying to figure if I should just find something else to do today instead of wasting our time going. Lol
