| Good call! Our cities can't change their landscape for every cause célèbre. |
Your president released like 1,600 violent sex predators and scumbags when he pardoned the J6 slime, and now you are mad about actual protestors? Luckily that trash seems to be taking itself out, so no worries, but that’s quite hypocritical. |
| I thought Trump was a good negotiator. He should have got Wilson HS back too. |
How does one remove a plaza? Dig a giant hole? |
Blackmail Plaza |
Blackmale Plaza |
If only the federal prosecutors in DC would do their jobs! Of course, when they do, Trump just pardons everyone anyway, so what's the point? |
| How many BLM founders are in prison now? |
Same! |
| what will they rename it? Musk Ave or Trump Blvd? or maybe Putin Pkwy. |
It's going to be called Liberty Plaza. A bit generic, but infinitely better than BLM Plaza. |
| totally fine with me. It's actually not a plaza anymore, though it was in 2020 -- you could walk there, no cars would drive on it, people congregated, etc. It was a plaza. it is now not a plaza. It's just a street with a completely symbolic mural on it, that cars drive on. |
Those were different federal prosecutors, but the J6 bunch should be in prison as well. I'm not sure why one excuses the other. Trump being unfit for office should have no bearing on whether spending millions of taxpayer dollars on a blatantly political performative public "mural" was a good choice for the city to have made. |
"Give it a rest" would also be good advice for the people who had already posted in this thread about how divisive that slogan is. |
To anyone who values the principles of democracy, the people of DC (and their elected representatives) should surely be the boss in DC. I support some things the Council does and really hate others, but I am opposed to congress or the president trying to impose their will on a people the do not represent. Whether or not I agree on the substance of their ideas, it is absolutely wrong that they should enjoy this tyranny over people who have no say in their representation. My little protest is that I will never as long as I live (absent action by the Council) turn right on red within the borders of DC. I welcome additional ideas. |
