That’s tough. Is she done growing?

This seems to be really common. I know a lot of boys like this! They are all tall of course but nothing crazy. Just finished growing by 13-14.

My DS was in the over 99% starting early, by about 2 months. Now 14 and 6’2” but slowing way down.

She stopped growing at age 10. 5'8" with a size 11 shoe.

Yes. Always in 99th percentile for height and weight.

No, DD stopped growing in 5th or 6th grade at 5'6".

But DS, who'd always been 50th percentile had a late growth spurt and at 21 is now 6'2"

No, she entered puberty and ended up a slightly taller than average woman.

DH and I were the 99th percentile kids and yes we are both very tall. Our kids are somewhere in the 95th-99th range, I can’t remember. One has always been since birth, the other started out more like 50th but has climbed the charts each year to “catch up” with their sibling. The younger one is now a head taller than most classmates whereas the older one is just like normal tall with several others at the same height. I think some classmates of the older one are starting to hit growth spurts though.

They are in ES so still a lot shorter than either parent. I look at them and find it hard to believe they will ever be as tall as me let alone DH. The older one will probably hit a growth spurt in the next couple of years. I’m interested to see where they end up. I feel like there might be some regression to the mean just because DH and I are such outliers. But it’s hard to imagine they won’t both be pretty tall.

Kind of - mine is 6'1" - but was hoping to be 6'4" like his dad.

This exact thing happened to me

Same, I'm not short, 5'8, but when I was younger the pediatrician predicted I'd be over 6 feet, I have been the same height since I was 12, so people caught up.

It is tough - we think she is done growing. Her first day of Middle School, kids kept stopping her to ask where things in the building were because they thought she was a teacher. Awkward to say the least. It is getting easier now that other kids are starting to catch up a little.

Yes. At 13 DS1 is 6'2 and wears men's size 12 shoe.

Maybe I am a bad mother, but I have no memory of my 2 son’s height percentiles. LOL, and I attended every annual appointment until they were in their teens.

My 99 percentile kid slowed down after early puberty (age 12 for a boy) and doctor thinks he will top off at 5’10”
