I have personally found many local businesses to be closed 3 out of these 4 days. The schools are more conservative, but not wildly so. Yesterday they weren’t at all. |
I'm sure you understand that MCPS has centralized crews for clearing snow, not one dedicated to each school. It takes some time. |
Lol that is funny. I actually commuted to work on most of those days. Tons of people out and about, businesses open while DCUM claimed roads were impassable. |
It's not. Rain is. |
Are you under the impression typical businesses have dedicated crews for each site? |
| I predict ice turning over to rain making for a mess in the AM |
+1 exactly The reality is businesses open because if they don't they lose revenue and can't survive. MCPS will get its tax revenue either way so what's the problem with keeping administrators home until every single parking lot is completely cleared. Who cares about parents that have paid for and rely on child care provided in schools? That's not their problem. |
Same. I’m assuming there will be a 2 hour delay tomorrow. |
Rain makes it sloppy, not dangerous. Worry about getting your pants wet isn't a reason to delay or close. |
Is it actually supposed to be under freezing anywhere in the county overnight? I don’t see a delay. And I am not one to have an issue with delays. |
| Have they ever had a code red day followed by an on-time opening day? I don't recall. |
| It's going to be above freezing from now through the end of the school day tomorrow. I think they will open on time. |
| It’s above freezing now and will stay that way through tomorrow. Roads are already cleared in many places and snow is melting (it was already the type prone to quick melt). It’s going to be 53 Thursday - there’s really no excuse for a delay. |
| I predict a 2 hour delay. |
211 to be precise. 7 bus depots from where busses go to 13,024 stops. County in charge of 500 square miles. |
