What do we think?
If it's rain tomorrow and temps above 32, could schools open on time Thurs?

Of course they *could* open on-time, but I think you're asking if they *will* open on time.

I anticipate an on-time opening for MCPS on Thursday: we have rain on Wednesday afternoon/evening that will facilitate the work of plows and shovels.

Normally I would expect a delay but it’s going to get warm and rainy and I actually think they will be on time.

I can't think of any time when it opened on time following a closure. I think they will be worried about ice and have a delay.

I think they are hoping to be on time. I am hoping for a delay.

That would be an irrational fear. It is going to be well above freezing in the morning.

But why make the employees go to work on time if you don't have to?

It's going to be on-time. I don't think people realize how warm it is supposed to be tomorrow and Wednesday night. It's going to be above freezing by 10am. And it will stay above freezing. Ice won't be an issue on Thursday.

Because the decision today was wise. We hope it's a trend.

I guess we'll find out how beholden Taylor is to the teachers union. But it is going to be awfully hard to come up with a plausible excuse in support of a delay.

How about the student parking lots weren't cleared because students forgot to move their vehicles?? Plausible

But if it's rain, this won't work
