According to Trump, the pain will be worth it in the end.

Trump has nothing to do with it. A Canadian Politician is now denying remote Canadians access to high speed internet. He’s only hurting the people he is supposed to represent.

There’s a Canadian satellite service provider who also bid for the contract. Starlink won the competitive bid, but now they are all “Buy Canadian” and they will give it to the domestic company.

Canada First and all that.

So it will cost them more.

Anyone doing business with Musk or Trump is a fool who will get burned in the long run.

It's been barely a month and US Dept of Commerce already put out new guidelines that could earn Starlink billions.

Musk couldn't care less. He's on a mission to cut cut cut!

A $100M contract is like a meal out on the town with a fine wine to him.

A month ago, PP would have walked away with a huge majority just because he's not Trudeau. Now Canadians are wary of anyone who appears to be Trump Lite, or incapable of standing up to him.

I think one possible silver lining of the current farce is countries around the world leaning right might be put off by what they see going on here.

The contract, signed in November, was meant to provide high-speed internet access through Starlink's satellite service to 15,000 eligible homes and businesses in rural, remote and northern communities by June of this year.

Ford said Ontario will ban American companies from provincial contracts until U.S. tariffs are removed.

"Ontario won't do business with people hellbent on destroying our economy," he said in the statement."

That's roughly $7,000/home. The contract shouldn't have been awarded in the first place.

Well here in Canada we were blindsided by a country that we thought were our friends, turning on us. So we have had free trade since the 1980s, Ronald Reagan times, and our manufacturing was decimated then. Now we are mocked by your leader with Americans in general joining in.

Like a guy from Los Angeles insulted us and we had sent firefighters to help fight their fires. And somehow we have to find a way going forward without you, with a lot of pain, because you can never ever be trusted again.

Good I hope it was a slow and steady Nancy Pelosi kind of "rip up"

Yes, we know that there is illegal collusion, it’s what the administration wants to do. Doesn’t mean that it will happen.

LMAO, he’d probably have to get more welfare from the US taxpayers to pay for it unless he finds a restaurant willing to barter for his meme stock.

Pierre is looking like a total clown/treason weasel for aligning with Trump.

How is Pierre aligning with Trump?

Everything I’ve read and listened to tells me he is aligning with Canada. His Jordan Peterson podcast interview was a great listen.

Canada has internal trade barriers and he wants to eliminate that. I didn’t realize how restricted trade is within Canada.

Pierre is awesome, wish we had someone like that hear in the US.

You do.

You should send your savings to USAID. Unless you don’t care.

Well, to you I offer much of the province of Alberta (who might actually want to be a state), Mr. polivere, and maybe examples like former MPP and mayor Patrick Brown. For Brown, his Wikipedia page quite nicely outlines the sexual allegations against him. But of course, he was an MPP in a different area than he is now mayor so people aren’t worried. So… president, member of provincial parliament. Samesies!
