I was just coming post this. I have been saying for YEARS, let's just drop genders and go with the sexes. It's the only way for sanity to prevail. There is no controversy - you are either born male or female. Full stop. (and no, genetic anomalies are rare cases, and do not count, nor should they).

The pendulum is swinging back to common sense and normalcy, and I for one am ecstatic.

Great. How does that help people struggling to pay their bills? Please be specific.

No 100% sure what your point is. This has nothing to do with grocery prices. This is a separate issue. Do you think everything he does should relate to grocery prices?

Yes, because we were told that a majority of the people that voted for him were doing so because of economic reasons. The MAGA purists may be obsessed with trans and other cultural issues, but everyone else just wants to see lower bills and more money in the bank at the end of the month.

Sounds like you can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Thankfully Trump can.

Yeah right. Then where's his proposal to lower our cost of living? Just more "concept of a plan" bullshit? Sorry but he is neither walking nor chewing gum, this is some weird stumbling bullshit as far as I can see.

He also solved that huge problem of flags flying half staff on Inauguration Day. No more! Trump saved the day.

Missed the global warming one. How did he end global warming?

Check outside.

Go look up the difference between global warming and climate change.

Climate change versus WEATHER.

Climate change is long term trends over decades
Weather is short term day to day

And, what we have going on is a polar vortex, which is cold air that's been displaced from the pole. And usually that issue of cold polar air being displaced happens because of unusually warm air from elsewhere, such as the pacific ocean, pushing northwards to displace it. So even though it's cold, it still has something to do with climate change.

Whatever, the earth has been warming for the last 10000 years. The entire North American continent was covered by an ice sheet that melted on its own. The is earth is going to what it’s going to do. Humans are insignificant.

I am realistic that a lot of people (including most of DCUM) will revile Trump no matter what, but I expect Trump to get at least 60% of the country behind him, maybe more, which is pretty darn good.

Sure. What's the plan for the grocery prices?

A first step is to put shoplifters in jail. That alone would cut prices sharply in a lot of major cities.

Who pays for their jailing?

It’s a lot cheaper to have criminals locked up than to let them run wild. Plus hey, now that Old Joe just freed 2500 drug dealers, we have extra room in the jails!

Agree.

There are only 34 trans people in the entirety of US sports yet somehow that thanks to MAGAs, they became the nation's top issue, ahead of everything else, pushing everything else aside, that had to be first, ahead of inflation, ahead of grocery costs, ahead of mass shootings, ahead of healthcare and every other thing that we truly need far more.

Screw that. Screw the PP's "ecstasy" and very lopsided priorities. I and 99.9% of my fellow Americans need fixes for things that ACTUALLY AFFECT ME like housing costs, affordable healthcare and high cost of living, not these kinds of fringe issues that do not affect 99.9% of Americans.

You are NOT showing me any common sense at all.

Do you honestly think that the gender debate is just about trans athletes? Talk about not showing common sense. Is it a "fringe" issue when a prison inmate claims he's a woman, then rapes not one but 3 of his cellmates, impregnating one of them? Or when a trans woman stays in a domestic violence shelter with biological women?

Oh wait, that doesn't affect you...

Where did you get the 34 trans athletes in the ENTIRETY of US sports number? Because there are many cases of trans athletes in high schools and colleges, and this number seems VERY low. We have a trans kid on our swim team, and there is a trans kid running in spring track in MCPS (leaving the biologic females in the dust, btw). It's odd that there are only 34 and I know two of them. Seems statistically impossible.

Agreed!

I live in a purplish part of a deep blue state and I see so much more support for Trump than I saw 8 years ago. Plus, the open dislike for Trump this time around is so much more subdued than in 2017. The fact that most of DCUM will continue to revile Trump just highlights what a bubble they live in and will make the rest of America like him even more.

OMG I hope you are being sarcastic because this is so incredibly misleading it’s shocking to see someone writing it down.

They will get what they voted for. Probably not what they want or need though.

It’s called clemency and used to be seen as a virtue. Those were people given unreasonably long sentences who served reasonable times. And let’s not forget that in 2021 Trump pardoned hundreds of people who were… his friends and supporters.

No no no! This was Biden ceasefire and who began these negotiations months ago but brought the trump people in after the election so someone in his administration would be informed. Trump should Ihave given credit to Biden in his speech today if he was serious about bringing the country together. Trump doesn't give a dam about bringing the country together.

This ceasefire is as fragile as dropping an egg on the floor. It's all on Trump now and it won't last.

Don’t be too sure of that. Many people will like some of Trump’s policies but not others. Among the ones they approve of (e.g.,“close” the border) will be others that will make them scratch their heads (Gulf of America) or impact their lives in negative ways (weakening of ACA, going after Medicare, Medicaid and more). Many people held their noses and voted for him because they wanted to see material improvements in their lives. When those don’t all materialize, they will notice and not like it.

Here are some promises he made in his speech today. Drill baby drill. Who cares about earth, we want to settle on Mars.

It means that the educational system has failed, that’s nothing to celebrate. Hopefully genz will rescue the country.
