Since fields are closed, is your club still training?

Not all BSC. Girls 2nd team thus far no indoor access.

We have been indoor training for 6 weeks. Lots of indoor fields in the area.

What club has access to an indoor gym for weight training?

We've been able to practice outdoors at the club fields but not do extracurricular training in other outside spots. It's getting closer so I'm hoping Sunday doesn't hit or we'll be set back at least another week.

It’s just how it is at all clubs. If the first team didn’t get these preferences, those players would not be at the club and would find one that did give it to them.

Same experience w SYC; folks are starting to get frustrated by the lack of communication from SYC on this. The club admin is lacking in this area. They don’t ask for feedback either which further frustrates families.

not just syc our club, our club heads still hibernating

It becomes self-fulfilling. Kids on first teams get more starting at the youngest ages z and gets worse as they move up in age. First team at a smaller club is better than 2nd team at a big club for this reason.

Don't disagree that smaller clubs are better at the younger ages for many players. But instead of complaining about it, train harder on your own and find the club that fits your kid the best. There are no shortage of options in this area.

Coach and team managers should also be looking for indoor space. To be fair and given the weather, all indoor spaces are gone...churches too. The SYC admin doesn't have the bandwidth to find spaces for every team in the club, that really is unreasonable expectation. It comes down to the team coach and team manager to take lead on this, speaking as a team manager myself.

Don’t MLSNext and ECNL clubs?

Team is playing futsal and found some space for indoor futsal practices as well, but not for the outdoor teams.

I would say it's coach dependent. We are at SYC and aren't a top team and we've had the opportunity to train indoor although not much due to limited space. Our coach has tried and has found ways to try to keep our players engaged.
