Teacher criticizes Trump

It is 9th grade English class, not social studies. The kids were doing some kind of exercise where they had to explain why they admired somebody. The student in question chose Trump. The teacher started questioning him after he delivered his speech, asking how he could admire a person who XYZ and 123.

If XYZ and 123 were facts that is fine.

It's like writing a persuasive speech to get rid of public schools and the teacher states well what about XYZ?

If you can't see that you are tribal.

Only if she gives similar rebuttals to other students, and isn't selectively targeting certain people.

He's a convicted felon. I think the child should be questioned about why they admire someone who was convicted of a felony and is a rapist. School is an excellent place to learn that's not okay.

I bet you can report them to Elon Musk somehow or maybe by March there will be some sort of Neighborhood Council you can send them to for reconditioning.

Teacher is wrong for not vetting the submission before sharing with the whole class, and for debating a child in front of the class without warning we're giving a child a chance to research a response.

OP here. The teacher only gave rebuttals to the student whose speech was about admiring Donald Trump and the student whose speech was about admiring Andrew Tate. The boys are friends. There is a perception that the teacher does not like these boys and targets them because their political opinions are different from hers and the boys feel uncomfortable in her class now.

Look up who this sort of reporting of teachers and parents ended up in USSR and Germany.

Insane that we would be encouraging teachers to be a silent fact reciting robots. Parents who worry about teachers "corrupting" their children are clueless morons in my opinion because it basically indicates that the parent has abdicated their responsibilities and is admitting that they have no influence and their child is literally not listening to them.
