Thank you!

You would have received an email a few days ago if your child was in pool. No email means your kid was not in pool.

Thanks!

Yes, universal referral is the in pool. Top 10% of each school. Unclear how they use the test scores. I asked the question and did not get a clear answer.

Again everyone… parent of a 7th grader in AAP who didn’t get in until 5th and WAS in pool. In pool means nothing.

Seriously, for what purpose? So you can gloat or feel crappy? Is this about easing your anxiety as a parent? Are you preparing a report. I truly do not understand what knowing some random, anonymous scores of 7 year olds will do for you. Please explain why "we should keep all the data together."

I find it interesting what the different thresholds are. My kid is in AAP in MS so I don’t have any thing to gain. I just find the different thresholds fascinating.

Yes, but isn't that going to vary even within pyramid? So knowing that someone is in Chantilly for example doesn't help a ton because there could be very different thresholds for different elementary schools. Or am I understanding this wrong?

Yes, but it might help people to know what the typical in-pool score is at their school, if someone responds from that school.

True, my in-pool kid didn’t get in until we appealed, and my other kid wasn’t in-pool but got in on the first round. I was much better at submitting the application the second time around.

What even is the purpose of this forum? Why are you even here if none of this interests you? What is the purpose of you being here?

Honestly i think this data will help future parents that come across it to see what it might take to be in a pool since FCPS delays results to the last minute whenever possible.

The purpose of this forum is to create a place that doesn’t clog up the FCPS forum. Everyone got tired of the overly obsessed parents posting scores in thread after thread. So Jeff created this.

Who cares if a kid is in pool or not? It doesn’t matter. It’s just a way to make sure FCPS screens every kid who might possibly be eligble for full-time services. Any parent can just refer. Threads like this are pointless.

Thank you. I suspected this bc this school is a center with many who are interested in AAP. I bet the same score get one in pool elsewhere in the pyramid.

I am curious if this change has anything to do with the potential move to get rid of centers bc i am would think if the plan is to keep them then it would make more sense to compare all second graders in the same pyramid not just the same building.

But most are just giving the pyramid not the specific school.
