The 14 billionaires in Trump’s plutocratic administration

Yes, yes. Now run along, there some more boots waiting for you. Maybe you'll get some trickle down crumbs on them.

And yet, when Billy Long was nominated to lead IRS - as normal a guy as ever there was - DCUM's finest turned their noses up at him immediately. You people know all about 'dumb,' not to mention, hypocritical.

When has Billy Long fought for the little guy?

The point is that he isn't an "elite, connected billionaire oligarch." But do keep moving those goalposts.

No one is moving goalposts. You posted an example that is not the topic of this thread. People are talking about the outsized number of exceedingly wealthy people he has nominated. A *separate* discussion would be about how many of his picks are also completely unqualified for these posts. This might include some of these megawealthy people but is a separate discussion.

If you can't keep up, don't yell at others for your own stupidity.

Imagine being so dumb that you haven’t yet realized that this wasn’t why people voted for Trump.

But among US presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, and JFK were all incredibly wealthy men when they took office.

There's an assumption in American politics that the super rich aren't beholden to special interests. Barack Obama and Bill Clinton had fairly normal finances when they were elected. Today, Obama and Clinton are among the richest men in America. They are each worth more than a quarter billion dollars - all of it "earned" when they left office.

Who really is more corrupt? The person that comes in to power rich, or the person that leaves it super rich?

But at least they understood where regular people were coming from when they started their Presidency. People who have been rich all their lives really don’t know what it’s like to live in the real world.

What are your sources? This article says Obama is worth 70 mill. Still a lot but nowhere near the “quarter billion” you mentioned.

Also, I don’t know why you have quotes around earned. Are you implying that he is corrupt? He earned it the following way:

“Barack Obama’s net worth in 2024 comes from various sources. These include his presidential salary and pension, book deals, podcast deals, Netflix deals, speaking engagements, and real estate investments.”

“For his book “For A Promised Land,” released in November 2020, Obama secured a $65 million deal with Penguin Random House, which also included a memoir by Michelle Obama. The book sold 3.3 million copies in its first month, becoming a top-selling political memoir.”

Again, Obama didn't have any money until AFTER his presidency.

LMAO you people keep changing your story about why they voted for Trump.

"The economy, stupid!" yet now Trump says the economy is wonderful and the MAGAs say "that's not why we voted for Trump."

"The border and illegals!" yet when someone brings up racism the MAGAs say "that's not why we voted for Trump."

"The Deep State and Elites!" yet now you say "that's not why we voted for Trump."

Speaking engagements and books are a pretty good gig if you're a former President.

You seem to be the only one yelling - oh, and calling others stupid. Love the lecturing! It's really worked well for you.

If you don't want to be called stupid, don't post stupid things. Including the post above. Stop trying to "gotcha". You just look foolish.

+1 They have no clue about ordinary citizens worries.

Also, I don't blame former POTUS for getting rich. They write books and get paid to give speeches. Big deal.

A lot of the plutocrats are the elites who are in bed with global dictators like Putin.
