Any ex-MAGAs willing to share that mindset?

The problem is, I don’t know of ANY former MAGAs. That’s the scary part. Sure, I know of republicans who didn’t vote for him this time. But I am talking about the full-on MAGA folks. The rally goers, insurrectionists, folks with Trump tattoos, etc. The ones who can’t see any fault in anything he does. Nobody seems to leave this cult.

So, if you are out there, please share. What was your mindset? How/why were you able to dismiss everything he has done? What happened to finally change your mind? Any suggestions on how to help our friends/relatives see the light? Any insight would be much appreciated!

To those of you who are about to call me dramatic for calling it a cult…when you are in a cult, you don’t know you are in a cult.

There are many roads and streets lined with trash. You would be doing something useful picking up the trash rather than your mental wandering.

So how do you know you are not in your own cult?

I’m a Harris voter and you are why we lost. You need to leave your own deep cult.

Are there people with Harris flags and tattoos? Are there conspiracy theories around Harris that have spawned violence?

No?

Then it isn't a cult.

The cult is the far left. The progressives are a cult that’s as systematic and deep as the MAGA.

Yes.

We don't have tattoos on our foreheads and flags on our lawns of any democratic politicians.

But you do put signs out in front of your house with your cult chants printed on them.

Oh yeah, cult chants like "equal rights for all" and "science rules." LMAO.

I'm LOOKING at one of these signs out my own window at my neighbor's house where it has stood for the better part of a decade now
In This House We Believe:
Black Lives Matter - we send money to grifters
No Human Is Illegal - open borders
Love is Love - gay marriage which has been legal for years
Women's Rights are Human Rights - pro-abortion which is already totally unlimited in my state
Science is Real - reduce carbon emissions by any means necessary
Kindness is Everything - right.

The signs are silly. But why do you find them so offensive and find it difficult to understand perhaps the sentiments pertain to a desire for everyone to live in the world described.

Strikes me that it’s nicer to live across from that instead of “deport them” and “lock her up” and whatever other bullying phrase trumpsters are using.

Why does it make you so angry??

Yeah, those are all cult statements. How dare they! Still not attached to any politician, just statements of their beliefs.

Let us know when they buy Bibles and gold sneakers from Obama.

Maybe ask Ukraine and Israel if they agree with you about no violence being spawned.

A key element of a cult is shunning those who leave. You can see happening here and on social media. So many people on the left shunning and rejecting friends and family members who voted differently than they did. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen that from people on the right, MAGA or otherwise.
Anonymous
Here's how you know they're in a cult. They never, ever criticize Trump on here. For anything.

You see plenty of dems that criticized Biden, Kamala or Obama though.

Simple as that.
Anonymous
Much of it is based on immaturity and simplistic thinking. All the MAGA people I know are immature and have a spiteful streak, plus a smattering of ex-pat Russians who support him for strategic reasons. You can see the mentality in the posts right here on dcum. Many seem like they are written by teenagers.

Pp. It doesn’t make me angry. I think America is great now. We have an economy that is the envy of the world, we run the global community to support our interests, we have freedom of speech and association and religion. We could improve our infrastructure, tax collection and reduce the deficit. But America is great.

But you’re correct that MAGA makes me think of incomprehensibly angry people who want to burn it all down because they are positive that someone is getting something “for free”.

Now why does the sign make you angry?
