Any ex-MAGAs willing to share that mindset?

I have a friend who was in a cult many years ago. Some people who were formerly in that cult were key to getting her out. They knew all the things to do/say to snap her out of it. It worked.

The problem is, I don’t know of ANY former MAGAs. That’s the scary part. Sure, I know of republicans who didn’t vote for him this time. But I am talking about the full-on MAGA folks. The rally goers, insurrectionists, folks with Trump tattoos, etc. The ones who can’t see any fault in anything he does. Nobody seems to leave this cult.

So, if you are out there, please share. What was your mindset? How/why were you able to dismiss everything he has done? What happened to finally change your mind? Any suggestions on how to help our friends/relatives see the light? Any insight would be much appreciated!

I’m too am a Harris voter and yes MAGA is a cult. There are too many people willing to go against their personal morals and standards who support trump for it not to be a cult.

MAGA comprises deeply fearful people. They yearn for someone to give them answers and say everything will be great. Trump does that. Doesn’t matter if it’s a pack of lies.

He permits them to blame someone else for life’s challenges. He permits cruelty and incivility, actually eggs it on which makes MAGA feel in control and justified.
